We have limited location pinball in calgary, but our best spot is definitely the pub at the flames community arenas. They just reopened for the season and have Metallica LE, Shadow, Revenge from Mars, White Water and Theatre of Magic in the lineup. We are going to have an informal event there next Wed Sep 9th starting at 7:30pm. Might try and get a mini round of pingolf going since the Edmonton tourney is happening next weekend. Everyone is welcome so come on out if you are looking for a fun time!

Aiming for a 'shotgun' start for pingolf around 8PM, so show uo early to get some time on the driving range! Will be a very casual compitition, so don't worry if you've never been in a tournament before. All for fun and getting out of the house to meet some local pinheads. Hey everyone,

Just spreading the word about a unique pinball event in Calgary over Labour Day weekend (Sep 2-3) that we've dubbed the 'Silverball Rodeo'. Check out the full details on the pinside event or kijiji link below.

In a nutshell it's a 'mini show' at our league homebase the Atlantic Trap and Gill (510 Heritage Dr SW). Going to have 20+ machines in for the weekend, with Saturday focused on the competitive side with the Stampede City Pinball Open 'Pinburgh-style' group matchplay tournament. All day qualifying with equal play for all participants, with big cash prizes and IFPA points on the line. Alberta competitive legends Dan Horne pingod and Derek Thomson @bcrage88 will be in the mix so the competition is sure to be fierce. On Sunday we're running the tourney finals, but the main event is Rock & Roll Pinball that we're throwing in conjunction with a cool non-profit the Major Minor Music Project. Doors are open to the public from noon-last call with all machines on free play, a full bill of great 'pinball inspired' bands (think 70's classic rock), a couple of fun tourneys and a few other fun surprises. Bands kick off when our pinball champion is crowned. The Trap is kid friendly until 9pm, so the whole family can partake in the fun. And we're very proud to say we have the support of Nitro Pinball and are hoping the man himself Tommy Floyd FlipperFreak can make it out to join in the fun.

$30 to partake in the Stampede City Pinball Open tournament and only $15 for tickets to Rock & Rock Pinball. All access weekend VIP passes are $45 which get you into a bonus party Saturday night. Just catching up on this thread. Love seeing all the chatter on our event. Such a good time and really blew away our expectations on all fronts. The Die Hard crew really upped the competive pressure and helped get the machines set to big league tourney specs. Can't say enough good things about the machine donors and volunteers, no way this could have happened without each and every one of them stepping up. Just amazing to see our little pin community pull together to put this on. And while the tourney was rad it was super rewarding to see all of the casual players that came out yesterday for the rock show. Machines were fully utilized the whole time and they had to pry people off of them at closing. Good job pinchamp for finally becoming a real champ. And pingod truly is a Pin God for all he does to make our events happen and spread the good word of pinball to the people. Thanks again for a great weekend everyone! Lots more fun stuff coming from the SCPL including an expanded league starting in the coming weeks. Oh and if you pop into the Trap you might just see a few more games than normal... Happy to say that's a permanent thing.
