Hey guys, any chance someone has a spare ULN2803A chip they would be willing to ship? Or is there anywhere in Canada I can find the chip?

    #1848 6 years ago

Thanks, I will check that out.

Hey guys, what's everyone using to clean the roman glass. I bought a sheet at Yegpin and I'll be damned if I can't get this thing clean. It's like there is a film/residue on the surface that I can't get off?

    #1928 6 years ago

Yeah pretty much. But seriously if I can't get this stuff perfectly clean, this will be the last sheet I purchase. Other then cleaning this stuff I think it is great. Even when it is seriously streaky it looks good when playing. For the price of this product I think it should look great when the game is both off and on.

Right now I own and have tried a number of glass cleaning products, Gunk Auto glass cleaner, Better Life natural glass cleaner, and ArmorAll Auto Glass cleaner. I also own multiple micro fibre clothes, I even have a Norwex cloth specifically for glass. I have tried them all with almost no difference, still streaks everywhere. I did use Windex on the surface once when I first got it home, and then found out I shouldn't use Amonia products on this type of glass. Could that be why I am having a hard time cleaning?

    #1930 6 years ago

Well I am going to try 1 water and Iso with 2 microfibre clothes (one dry for wiping away any extra moisture) and spray on the rag not the surface. I will report back.

    #1933 6 years ago
    Quoted from wolv3:

Your glass might be messed up if you used Windex or something like that.

Damn, I was hoping no one would say that. I will not make that mistake again.

I still haven't tried cleaning with the recommended technique, I will tomorrow and see if it makes a difference.

    #1938 6 years ago

Well, I think the sheet is ruined, I have tried nearly everything. Next time I will be spending my hard earned cash on a ColorDMD. I really like the way the glass looks, but when I am playing, the roman glass does not add that much to my experience. Don't get me wrong, this is great looking glass, but I don't have any Persian kittens sitting around so...

Hey guys, I am building a new cable to connect up my shaker motor for RS. Can someone link where to find these connectors on Digikey I am having trouble finding them.

Just wondering if anyone from Calgary has seen/played the Earthshaker for sale on Kijiji. I am very interested in this game, would anyone be willing to check it out for me?

    Edit: Whoops I mean Edmonton

    #2145 6 years ago

I think we just need to continue getting the news out that Nitro is the only place to purchase NIB pinball, that will hurt SML and other pinball retailers more, and then we can continue bashing on the side!

Almost pulled the trigger on the WCS for sale on Kijiji in Edmonton, anybody from Pinside scoop it up?

Hey all, does anyone know who can repair a board for me. A friend of mine owns a F14 Tomcat and recently the slings, pop bumper and ball trough eject stopped working. I went over to give him a hand and found this.

    Quoted from smiley:

I've used John's Jukes in Vancouver a few times. Last time was a long wait. That board looks pretty toasty. Send him pics of both sides. https://www.flippers.com/

    Thanks I sent him pics.

    #2346 5 years ago

I ordered a new board, this is a friends game and he didn't feel like waiting. But I am coming to Yegpin, I might bring it with me anyway since it always good to have a back up and I would love to learn how to fix boards.

Hey guys, I'm headed up to Yegpin this weekend, and I am wondering if anyone has a spare 26-1500 with diode they would be willing to bring with them. I am helping a friend fix his F14 and the coil that activates the upper diverter is dead.

    #2379 5 years ago

Thanks for the offer! I found one locally already.

Has anyone got confirmation for their GNRCE? I am still waiting to hear back. Seems like all the American distributors already know their allotments?

    Quoted from Soulstoner:

I’d like to make a trip up to Century Casino to play some pins once this second wave subsides.
What’s the fee for playing? Standard loonie/toonie per game or is there a day pass or anything like that?
I’ve got no options to try different pins here in Lethbridge so I’m willing to make the drive for a day trip.

I had 3 games in my shop for the past 10 months, I made about $100 in that time, now they are sitting in the basement of my store, and I put socks where the games were. Already sold a couple thousand dollars worth of socks in 1 month! Most Lethbridge people are not ready for pinball, our city is typically 10 years behind most big city trends.

I will make a post if I decide to put any games back in the shop. I can't justify taking up valuable room if no one wants to play the games, if they were being played that would be a different story.

    #2901 3 years ago
    Quoted from rwmech5:

    Which shop do you own?

    BOB Headquarters, downtown 308 5th St. S.
It was mostly my staff playing them I think.

    #2905 3 years ago

    You haven’t seen the basement!

    #2907 3 years ago

Now that Average Joe’s is closed down there is an IM at the Duke, but it is in rough shape, probably hasn’t been cleaned in 10 years!

    #2909 3 years ago

I don’t know of any others. I had IM, MET, and TSPP in my shop, all collector shape games. I didn’t even charge any cover you could just come in put a dollar in and leave.

Looks like Marcos is giving better shipping rates to Canadians, I just got an email. I haven’t ordered anything yet, but hopefully this is true!

    3 weeks later
    #3015 3 years ago
    Quoted from sixtyfourbits:

How was the shipping rate they charged you? I went to put an order in, and they wanted $124 shipping and $80 for customs. $200us on a $350us order. I thought they said they drastically improved their Canada shipping, but sadly I'm not seeing it.

I don’t understand why they don’t just use USPS first class international or priority? I ordered recently from Pinmonk, Doug’s light kits, Lit Frames, and Brian Allen’s art, all came with cheap USPS shipping no duties. Fuck Marcos and Mezel Mods for not using a shipping method that has proven to save Canadians lots of money. I have spoken with both those companies and neither of them gives a shit what I have to say.

Secret skill shot for 1st portal lock, 4 combos for your second portal lock, start Reality Gem. With this strategy I always end up with at least 100mil. Don't forget that the bank targets can also get you a portal lock and I believe your 10th combo does as well. Focusing on Portal locks has been the easiest strategy for me to get a good score. All the other nuances of the game will be revealed and then you can start focussing on other strategies.

    Quoted from TBatti:

Can anyone explain what changed from the beginning of the year to now on Elivra EHOH. The code change that much where it's now ranked as a top 5 game on Pinside? I played it after it was about 1-3 months after release and thought decent but not that good. Maybe I need to try playing it again and see?

I think this game is pure eye candy. If you saw this game and didn’t go gugu gaga over it it’s probably not for you. Oh yeah, and Lyman put his heart and soul into this game, enough for me to purchase NIB without playing it!

    Quoted from Stretch7:

Anyone in Regina can help a fellow out with some legs. I sold a black hole last month to a guy in Regina and long story short the tried to steal it out of his basement. Good news they were unsuccessful but got away with keys and legs. He's not on pinside so i figure i reach out here and see if anyone has some legs locally he could purchase and get him back to playing his game.

Wow trying to steal a Black Hole, these guys think a couple thousand bucks is worth it I guess. Risk vs reward these guys are obviously dumb as f***!

It doesn’t help that you are constantly in 6 ball multi ball and game times are generally over 10 minutes. One game is like ten games on any other title.

    Quoted from PinPickle:

Just arrived… on its way to Ottawa on Monday for a trade. [quoted image]

So you purchased an LE with no intentions of playing the game?

    #3719 2 years ago
    Quoted from MrMikeman:

And this shocks you somehow? It's what flippers do. This is the consequence of having only 1 distributor. Same people always get first dibs to buy and flip for profit.

I’m shocked that he’d post on this thread seemingly bragging.

    #3726 2 years ago
    Quoted from pinballjah:

Maybe he bought 2 of them? Also you assume he bought it in Canada. If I buy a Rush LE in the US for $15k US and trade it for a GZ LE in Canada, is it wrong?

Of course it’s not “wrong”, you do you. I just wouldn’t go around bragging about it and expect a high five.
