It is a fun weekly league for sure a few of the Die Hard Pinball League members attend that league as well. Competition pinball is always a fun time the league is setup for all skill levels. The other option is DHPL League Championship Series that runs every second Thursday’s at Lucky’s as well. The next event is tomorrow at 6:30pm.

    Quoted from Spinape:

Anyone in Edmonton signing up for the fall league at Lucky’s? I’ve never done it before.

    #2702 4 years ago

Any of you guys having problems contacting JJP from their website? Want to order a few small parts but no one responds. Even Michel from Starburst is not getting responses from them for me. WTF JJP?? Playfield issues aside...if they no longer provide customer service, I won't be a GNR buyer.

I did it will be my third time playing in the league. It's a very chill league and good for people just getting into to competition pinball as you will move up or down in the brackets depending on play so there's a better chance of playing players in your skill range.

What night does it run? I see the web page talks about the spring league lol

Would be a good excuse to join to play some more pinball. I work 10 blocks from Lucky's and barely make it over there

Quoted from cdnpinballer:My parents drove through Edmonton on their way back from the west cost to Ottawa and stayed at the Ramada with Lucky's Lounge attached.
My dad sent me pics of the pins. Nice line up in there.

    We aim to please!

Its not to late to join Multiballers 2019 LLPL(Lucky's Lounge Pinball League). We play every Wednesday.

The DHPL League Championship Series is the biggest International Flipper Pinball Association (IFPA) sanctioned pinball league in the Edmonton area. We are now in our 6th year of running the league.

This year all of the events will be played at the new Arkadium Retro Arcade in Sherwood Park in 2020 and run every two weeks on Thursdays. (July/August/December are league breaks).

The events are for all skills group and ages (13+) its a great opportunity to come out play with a group of people who love to play the old silverball.

On each league night there will be 6 pinball games played, and you will be put into random groups of 3 or 4 players on a randomized machine. Depending on how you finish on each machine you will be assigned a score of 1st - 7 points, 2nd - 5 points, 3rd - 3 points, 4th - 1 point. The top 8 in each night will play in a playoff round to determine who is the winner of that night.

The standings of each night will be submitted to the IFPA and you will be awarded World Pinball Players Ranking points that will give you an opportunity to see you ranking in the entire world of pinball.

Over the course of the 19 events the IFPA points will be added up to give you your final standing and give you your ranking going into the DHPL Championship Finals. Everyone who plays events throughout the year qualifies for the DHPL Championship Finals and we will award plaques to all of the division winners.

These points will also give you a chance at representing yourself at the Alberta Provincial Pinball Championships with the winner given a free trip to the North America Pinball Championships.

Cost: $50 to pre-register entire season.
Drop In: $5 each event night

Please note: You must also pay the Arkadium Retro Arcade entrance fee at the door. A special rate of $12.50 + GST will be in effect for each of these night for anyone who visits the arcade.

Hope to see you out to the best pinball league in the Edmonton area in 2020!!!!

    For more information please visit:

    http://www.diehardpinball.ca/?page_id=1223

To pre-register for next years league please email [email protected] and we will provide you will all of the information.

Anhywhere on the east side of Regina to get any games in? Kid has a big hockey tourney in the city this weekend. Staying at a buddies on east side and wouldnt mind getting out for a couple beers/games if I can without straying too far in the evening other than the dang rink that's on the other side of the city

Edit* should have looked on pinmap before I opened my yap. Looks like Theo Bills and Leopolds has something.

    #2713 4 years ago

Have any Star Trek Pros sold in the past year? I have a nice NGG and thinking maybe I would trade it for a Star Trek pro. (plus cash if ST sells higher)

There is a 4 Strike Knockout Tourney at Theo Bill's on Saturday, they usually run from 2 PM until about 7 PM, so you may want to plan around that.

    #2715 4 years ago

U should show up for it!! Bring your buddies!!

Does anyone ever go down south to the various pinball expos?

    #2722 4 years ago
    Quoted from Waynezor:

Does anyone ever go down south to the various pinball expos?

I do, but geographically speaking it might not mean anything to you.

    Why do you ask?

    Quoted from Meegis:

I do, but geographically speaking it might not mean anything to you.
    Why do you ask?

Was gonna look at going to an expo next maybe seeing if other Canadians go that's all.

    #2724 4 years ago

I have gone to the North West Show its great, seeing everything about the Chicago Expo has me thinking of maybe going next year.

Let me know if you head South to a show and will have some room coming home for oddballs and bagatelles?

    #2727 4 years ago
    Quoted from Pinhead306:

Anywhere with good craft beer and pinball in Thunder Bay?

Dawson Trail Craft Brewery has a small tap room with one pin and a couple of arcades. A few other locations to play some good pins with beer just not sure how their tap selection is.

Will do, but I don't go to too many and my car is mighty small.

You need to hit up VFW next spring.

    YOU'RE NOT WRONG.

Maybe more tourney related but nonetheless: Pinburgh in Pittsburgh, INDISC - California, Texas Pinball Festival, Chicago has a major one as well.

Is there anymore differences between usa and Canadian pins other then the coin mech?

    #2732 4 years ago
    Quoted from Waynezor:

I don't know about western Canada but in Ontario and Quebec a lot of older routed games have an isolation transformer installed. This is just a big boat anchor that can be removed, substantially reducing the weight of the game.

    Quoted from Waynezor:

Modern Stern's come standard with a tournament button on Canadian models but so not have one on a us model.

It can be added at a cost to the us model, but often is just a plugged hole or dummy switch filler.

    #2734 4 years ago

If anyone is traveling thru the Battlefords and want to get their gaming fix on, LegendzVR arcade is now open. No pins (yet) however they have 11 old school classic arcades running on quarters.

    #2735 4 years ago

Big thanks to all the Calgary folks who made it out this weekend for the tournament! Had a blast, as usual.

Thankfully my dumb ass remembered to record the stream this weekend, so you can check out all the footage here:
    https://www.twitch.tv/diehardpinball/videos

There's lots of periods with no commentary, but for all of the finals we had full commentary.

Any of my Sasky friends need any parts? I am going to do a PBL order for a couple pingulps & a couple other small items.
The inlaws are at their place in Maricopa, and I have a 2 week window here to have items shipped to them. You won't see this stuff instantly, but if you have a few needs/wants, PM me, I can add it to my order and get it brought back in a few weeks. Will be insanely cheaper to share the US shipping and get a couple things.

Thanks for hosting an amazing event! It's always a great time when we get to hang with our northern pinball brothers and sisters.

The Arkadium is an incredible new venue for anyone in Edmonton region. 50 pins and 60?+ classic arcades, reasonable bevy prices. What more could you ask for?

    quick question.... sopranos or junkyard

    #2741 4 years ago

Depends on what kind of game you like. Probably Sopranos for me. Junkyard is quirky but way too much stop and video modes to progress.

    #2742 4 years ago

Sopranos all day. Not much play on jy

    #2743 4 years ago

    good to know, thx guys.
I'm guess the tougher question is sopranos or ripleys? lol
    cheers!

Ripleys all day long! Deeper version of taf imo.

    #2745 4 years ago

Why don’t you just buy all 3 and flip them like we know you going to do anyways?

I’d still take sopranos but I really like Ridleys. Owned both btw

    #2746 4 years ago

Second vote for Ripley's, but Sopranos is cheaper and is still a fun game as long as it's not too beat up. Ripley's definitely looks a lot nicer though. Sopranos, like any of the other dark age sterns, really benefits from Pinstadium.

    #2747 4 years ago

I sold my Junkyard after owning it for only a couple of months. Fun game with an imaginative quirky theme but gets old very fast.

    #2748 4 years ago

Any Pinsider near Marean Lake by Porcupine/bjorkdale/Greenwater Park (Saskatchewan) that could help a couple out. I sold them a 1980 Panthera (working) and now they are having issue after they set it up. It is their 1st pin.

I get near there infrequently. My oldest will probably have a midget game there (in Porcupine) in the near future here. I'll get back to you if I can swing something.

Maybe PM me their name - in a fluke world I know of them, if not I know someone who knows them for sure.

Edit- yup, we have a road game there on Saturday Nov. 30. Since its a Saturday, we could probably head out a bit early and I could take a peek.
