Jysk? They usually have piles of stool type items
Quoted from Pinhead306:I think possibly Canadian tire. I know they used to have them with hockey team logos on them. And if you hit them during one of their sales they are cheap.
Yup, believe it or not, I got my Star Wars and Storm Trooper stools from Canadian Tire. They were not cheap though. Believe I paid $79.99 each?
A

That really is not a bad price, bar stools and such are freakin expensive.
friggin wednesday man? how are we supposed to get down from Nipawin on a wednesday
Typical Saskatoon, everything - concerts and otherwise on tuesday-thursday, LOL
Quoted from dirkdiggler:I'm looking to get a few stools for in front of the arcade and multicade and don't want to spend alot. Don't care on subject matter. Any leads on where to buy?
Check out kijiji in your area. I found a nice set and table on kijiji here in Edmonton last year.
Quoted from ImNotNorm:Check out kijiji in your area. I found a nice set and table on kijiji here in Edmonton last year.
I had some cheap ones with ripped vinyl seats and I was able to get them redone in leather at a car upholstery place for I think about $20 each (5 years ago) - looks way better (no logos of course) and lasts a lot longer. Good option if you find some on kijiji needing repair.
Quoted from Cam:Costco has some nice modern looking ones for $29 each in store. Gun metal colored powder coating...
Great price but my fat ass needs some cushion
They have nice high back leather chairs online for around $100 each but to pricy for me.

Check the auction houses, sometimes you can score some used pub/restaurant quality high back chairs.
Quoted from Linkage:Typical day in Newfoundland, digging though a Seacan. Anyone happen to have a lead on a Captian Kidd head?
nice!
maybe I gotta move east
Quoted from klr650:Just to get the word out, if anybody in Canada is looking for the highly coveted, highly polished chrome "Ninja Balls" from ballbaron, they are available internationally via eBay for anybody outside of the USA. Here is a link to the 25 ball pack:
ebay.com link
They are also available in packs of 100 or 300.
Even in the pack of 25, they are cheaper than getting Silverjets shipped to Canada from Marco.
More info: http://www.ballbaron.com
Having heard from 2 customers both of which I shipped pre-cleaned Ninjas to, I have decided to curtail the practice of alcohol cleaning on my end. Should the ninjas be inadvertaintly stored for a period of time ( 1 case was 8 months ) they are susceptible to corrosion just as any unused steel would be. I can't dictate how or how soon the ball is to be used, so I will afford some level of protection through delivery and receipt to help prevent this possibility. Sorry to those who experienced this and I hope I've made acceptible adjustments in these cases.
From now on, I guess it can be nicknamed 'the slippery Ninja'.
Moving to Toronto in a couple weeks, how's the pinball scene there? Looking forward to finally buying my first pin, though we'll see what the husband says.

Holy crap, that’s a big move!!

buy the pinball BEFORE moving to Toronto. It's way cheaper in US.

Ahaha I wish! A pin won't be for a ways down the road. I'll get a nice SS or EM up into our apartment eventually though.
trunchbull The pinball scene in Toronto is alive and well. A few locations downtown Toronto, as well as a few prominent leagues, Bluffs and TOPL. Recommend you visit pinball revolution, they have forums specifically for those two leagues. Very welcoming folks in both leagues.

You'll be close enough to Niagara Falls to make regular crossings back into the US. You should consider you options to purchase Stateside on your visits. Buffalo is only 30 minutes further. https://buffalopinball.com/where-to-play/

Yes, but now he'll get to deal with the 28 cents on the dollar USD-to-CAD exchange and 13% tax at the border.
Welcome to Canada!

Exchange only affects him if he doesn't already have USD funds....
I usually buy my stools from KMS tools, and then recover them. For the Nintendo one i used glow in the dark thread...

For cocktail games i also buy the flat pack storage ones from Canadian Tire and have logos embroidered on them too.

Toronto has a great group of players to meet, there's a couple of different leagues you can join, regular tournaments and quite a few locations as well. Do you know what part of town you'll be in?
You can search Toronto Pinball Crew on FB.

YegPin was my first event of any sort like that this past weekend. Enjoyed it a lot. Thanks to Derek, Puck, Tommy, volunteers, and everyone else.
Cheers
Anyone have opinions on if historically Stern premium models are more or less problematic than pros? Getting close to pulling the trigger but that extra coin better not be an albatross.
Quoted from eggs4sale:Anyone have opinions on if historically Stern premium models are more or less problematic than pros? Getting close to pulling the trigger but that extra coin better not be an albatross.
Which machines were you considering?
Maiden. Was just thinking about GB, GoT etc that have notable extras and the problems that might arise.
Quoted from northerndude:Anybody in Sask buy naptha? Where have you bought it from?
I found this stuff at Rona.

Sterns are pretty reliable pro or prem. prem might be slightly less in the long run due to a few extra mechs, but nothing I'd worry about.

Thx! our Home Hardware here in Nipawin usually has friggin everything, but didn't think to head down to camping area of store, they might not have had it out 2 months ago when I looked either. Our Rona usually has nothing when I need it, so in true Murphys Law, they probably have it

Haha, yeah. I found it at Rona after finding a forum online which references naphtha as an ingredient in a DIY illegal drug making process. Damn I love the internet!
Proper Naptha (VM&P Naptha) can be purchased from Sherwinn Williams. Don't use camp fuel, too many other nasty components like rust inhibitors and who knows what else.
Well, thx! Prince Albert has a Sherwinn Williams, not too far and get into the city fairly frequently enough. HA, wait! Wifey is taking the boy into braces appointment tomorrow am, *tick one more off the list.
How many of you guys have ordered and received your Iron maidens? If so from which distro? I have had a pro on order since March and its getting old waiting. I normally dealt with a company down south of the border but wanted to give a local a chance this time. Not complaining or frustrated too much but inquiring minds want to know.
Quoted from greatwichjohn:more expensive. get some coleman fluid crappy tire.
The Coleman stuff @ CT has rust inhibitor, so not as good a choice..
I’d originally posted this in the Canadian machines for sale thread, but figured I’d post it here since it’s a bit more relevant here than it was there. Because of course I find out I need a new coil less than a week after receiving a Marco order:
Does anyone in or around Saskatoon, SK have a spare FL-15411 (B/W flipper - orange) coil? I was rebuilding my flippers on my TZ and it seems that one of ‘em had overheated and swelled up at some point and needs to be replaced.
Thought I might check around before biting the bullet and putting in an order somewhere (and inevitably order a whole bunch of other stuff to make the shipping charge worthwhile haha)

Been to Prince Alberts Sherwinn Williams, they don't carry it and basically looked at my wife like she was talking another language when she asked for it. Then she called Saskatoon's store, same, don't have it in.
