    Hello from Vancouver island!
I recently opened a classic game room called Barcadium in the historic mining town of Cumberland. I have three pins so far. Royal rumble, data east batman and triple strike. Both rr and batman are nearing completion on repairs. Arcade games are as follows:
    Sunset riders 4 player
    NBA jam 4 player
    Police trainer
    Sf2
    Defender
    Elevator action
    Super off-road trak pack
    60-1 multicade
    Hydro thunder
    19-1 multiwilliams
    Neo-geo bust a move
Buck hunter call of the wild
    Asteroids cocktail (bootleg)
    Fighting vipers 50" monitor
    zany zoo toy crane
Open a couple afternoons each week but the real fun is the private arcade rental where you and 24 of your buddies can bring your own drinks and game while listening to great music!

    Fishing and pinball
My 2 favourite things in one place

I have a Beautiful hotel on the ocean with a giant spa if anyone needs to leave their spouse happy while they head to this new Barcadium. Pinsiderd will get a friend's discount! Unfortunately all my games in Vancouver but thought many times to transfer some up.

    Quoted from ballykissfan:

I'm wondering what difficulties would I have with trying to take a game across the border to the US and shipping it from there? What would I expect from US Customs? I'm sure this has been covered before, but I couldn't find it if it has.

You shouldn't have any issues taking a game into the States. That's the country of origin (where it was made), so there's no tax to be paid when crossing.
Coming INTO Canada, you pay tax, so that's where you can run into trouble. Confirming the right price, etc etc.

What town/city is your hotel in?

Just below Courtney Comox in Royston 10 min roughly from this place. Kingfisher Oceanside Resort and Spa

Always fun stuff depending on the host. Some have vids, one has a full bowling alley mechanical with extended lane.

If you are ever Toronto bound, drop a line.

A nice shuffleboard works good too. Picked up a 10 shorty with bank rails in hoping to restore it over the winter. When others are waiting they can curl a game or 2.

Not sure if it's still there but the Grinder on 124st had a nice one my wife and I used to play.

How much would you pay for a TF LE (HUO)? I'm not looking to start a debate but I've heard people paying lower than $4500 and some paying $4900. I don't want to sound like an ass when I make an offer. The pro seems to be the more popular model. I've owned the Pro and really enjoyed it.. Would I be kick myself to get an LE?

    #866 7 years ago

If you can get a le under 5k it's a good deal. They're still listed for 5k+ in the us

With the market being as it is, the RF pro and le have risen in cost for us Canadians.

As str8cash said, they still fetch 5k usd in occasion. So if at 5k cad, not a bad deal.

If someone does has a tfle for sale, I'd be interested. Pm with details

We haven't had any booze chat lately. Here's a pic of a Pilsner Stein I picked up recently. About 12" tall, all ceramic with planes on inside and on bottom. Anyone else have some cool booze memorabilia pics for us to see?

    Here's a pic I took at this year's Indy 500 in the infield, Sun May 29th, 2016.
It was a big crowd for the 100th running of the Indy 500.
    Indy500-Infield-May2016_(resized).jpgIndy500-Infield-May2016_(resized).jpg

James Hinchcliffe and Alex Tagliani were two drivers from Canada in that race. Both did pretty good.
Hinch started on the pole, and finished 7th.
Tag started last (33rd), and finished 17th, last car on the lead lap.

Did any of you guys go to the race at Road America at Elkhart Lake, WI this past weekend?

Or planning to hit any of these upcoming Indy races?
Indy Toronto GP - Sun July 17
Indy 200 at mid Ohio, Lexington, OH - Sun July 31
Indy 500 at Pocono Raceway, Long Pond, PA - Sun Aug 21
Indy GP at Watkins Glen, NY - Sep 4

    #871 7 years ago

Back when indy car was popular my family went to the Vancouver race from around 89 to 97 or so. Go visit the cousins and my uncle had a nice penthouse where we could watch the race. Next time I'm at home I'll try and find pics. My brother was head of graphics and promotions for the short lived Edmonton Indy in the 2000s.

I think it's one of the best bang for your buck pins around, I've never owned one but always enjoy playing it. I'm surprised it's not used in tournaments more as its scoring is well balanced.

Has anyone shipped a game to the US? Any idea what it would cost to ship to Texas?

    Quoted from Cam:

For all our cheap shipping in Canada Americans get absolutely murdered. I shipped a game from virginia to ny a few years back and it costed me close to $380 I think. So to have it cross the border from Canada man I really wouldn't know but would be in the realm of "very expensive". Call sameday they'll give you a ball park

Had a great time at Lucky's Lounge at the Yellowhead Inn in Edmonton today. I'm sorry I missed the free pinball on July first. But I had no problem pumping in some loonies to play some pinballs on location (especially Ghostbusters). And the Bride 2.0 was really cool as well. Anybody in the Edmonton area looking for a place to play pinball this is the place!

At that price Stern can keep them. I swear I think they've gone off the deep end. I seriouly think they've created it to liquidate the amount of parts they've bought for Whoa Nellie.

Agreed. I wish I had enough money to not care but that ain't the case. You're probably right about the parts too.

I don't think they have announced a price yet. I doubt it will be as much as whoa Nellie. This one is way cheaper to build. No wood rails , no wooden crate, just standard legs and side rails.... but I could be wrong have to wait and see.

I read in another thread that the msrp was the same as newer sterns $5995

Exactly what I would do if I owned a pinball manufacturing company and I had a bunch of extra parts.

    #895 7 years ago

Honestly I think it looks great, but I just don't see how they can justify the price on such a dumbed down pin. Especially this newer version of it. Re-skinning a pin doesn't take nearly as much R&D.

    #896 7 years ago

I hope to get a chance to play a Woa Nellie or Pabst in the wild sometime since they do look so nice. I'm interested in feeling how they play.

I've played about 25 games on WN. If you like old em's you'll probably enjoy it. Personally, found it a total snooze fest. Artwork was only thing interesting.
