Here's the one in the game, a Williams 27-1084 lamp socket in a bally atlantis

Does anyone have a replacement or NOS 27-1084 socket?

It's the only thing on my Atlantis that doesn't work.

Pic #2 is just some generic housing I bought trying to replace the missing Williams 27-1084 socket.

to be honest I tried the swap so long ago that I don't remember why it wouldn't work

but it didn't work and I didn't understand why

today I was playing the pin and it just irritated me that I was never able to get a lamp socket to work

so if anyone has any ideas I'd be very grateful

the socket in question is on the coin door

Nope, it's just a coin door coin return bulb. The one in the picture is actually working fine

What happened is that the right hand side coin return socket shorted out on the lock down bar.

so the socket was fried and the plastic area it was mounted to was melted

when I bought the game I got the generic socket in picture #2 and tried it but it didn't work

I guess I need a socket that doesn't put voltage on the bracket?

    I wish I could just find a NOS 27-1084

Ken, why didn't the socket shown in pic #2 work?

am I being dumb? what am I not perceiving about this situation?

    Well, CNKay explained the mystery.

Apparently the center tab on picture no 2 is an insulated soldering point for a diode.

Thanks to all who responded to the thread
