    They both appear to be .1 mfd (10% on the red one) capacitors. They are often used on switches to help with really fast switch closures....the capacitor helps slow the registering of the closure so the CPU board is more likely to read it. That's my understanding, though I'm sure someone here can explain it much more technically.
