Heres a weekend scratch your head, WTF is this thread!

Please indulge me to have fun with this!!!

Looking for guesses as to Whats in the Box?

Ill lay down some hints, and more pics through the next day....

Any first Guesses? Where its from? The Theme?, How it works, year? and the first hint, a coin storage "Box", unlike anything Ive seen....
(and Ive not ever come across this game, before)

Of course Ill be a bit of an Ass, and ask for some help restoring......

Good luck, Ill be in and out all day.......

Nope, neither baseball. nor horse racing....

    #8 5 years ago

nope, for all 3 above.....hint, the box inside, has a metal put together stand....

    #15 5 years ago

Damn, you guys are good! And what an imagination! Sorry, All wrong!

OK, another hint, Im guessing its from the early 50s....and its from England......Could be wrong, but my best guess so far....

Coin operated Typewriter? Great guess!!!! you too, John, Not an Allwin.....Dont have it yet Lloyd?

It appears it would have been carried from Pub to Pub, taking coins, but no payoff, or gambling, unless scoring kept by hand.
    Runs on Dry cell batteries.....

Ill get a few more pics......I just polished all the rusted chrome on the case, and rivets in leather handles, with trusty rust removing sticks.
Glued down some of the felt interior, and generally cleaned off and wiped down everything, other than the glass....yet its not a pinball.....
    Looks good!

The Inside, fits the entire square snugly......

Got the Shape....But No Guesses correct yet......Nice Try Adam and Erak!!!

Heres the empty case.....you can see some polish on the chrome now.
I had to blow out, remove some mold, and Glue most of the fabric and felt along all seams....

I wish.....today is our Wedding Anniversary!
    We are together 43 years!!

    Quoted from Wolfmarsh:

Happy Anniversary! Tell Lisa I said hello!

Thanks, John....Lisa says Hi, and shares her thoughts back for your family.

    Quoted from pinbum:

    Some kind of shocking game?

God, I wish! The closest I have is a Shock ball!

More Pics! Getting Close....(pic before I glued and cleaned)

Here are some tubes? There is a second one that was held down by Leather snap straps, in the interior compartment....
    Both are very heavy......

Ill get another picture up shortly.

    Good guesses....no winner yet!

OK, heres some more. This is the stand that was inside....real heavy. There is a base, with 4 swivel legs.
The bolt has to be threaded forward, as it doesnt fit in box when ready to assemble.
The second tube, slides into the first one. I cut out the hole in the picture so you could see it.
The Hole, is where the coin rolls into as a Cash Box!
No way to get to the coins without a key and disassembly!
It sits at cocktail table height for 2 players, and there are 2 flipper buttons, one for each player.
The Wood Formica in the previous picture, is the top of the table.....

Only 1 pic revealing left after this.....Thanks for joining me and letting me have this fun!

    Quoted from Pecos:

    Whiffle-Zip / IPD No. 3558 / June, 1932 / 2 Players

Had to look this one up.....really cool gameplay at end of video......Close

    Quoted from cpr9999:

    Soccer game - English football?
    Perfect timing with World Cup!

    We have a Winner!

    Soccer.Football! World Cup games!

Ball pops up in center from coin, and two magnets are pulsed by flipper button!
No game scoring mech....Small, which is unique....

Now, how do I correctly replace these batteries and hard wire? They are listed as 9V?

    Thank you, Lloyd!

    Anyone ever seen this?

    #55 5 years ago
    Quoted from cpr9999:

    Google this:
    9v dry cell battery lantern

Got that, thank you....Would you know specs on a transformer that would replace 4 dry cells?

    #57 5 years ago

Nothing....not a mark or paper anywhere!

Nothing on the coin slot, and 4 extra balls in original cellophane.

The bottom of the feet show wear consistent with a year or less usage, but the hinges indicate the case is well traveled.

No flippers, just activate the magnet and Hope it goes in the goal.

The batteries and caps, are what I guessed the age at.....does anyone know the time of the dry cells? or amps....

    Quoted from CactusJack:

Replacement would depend on if they are in parallel or series or both.

Thank you, Im assuming one battery per coil. So how might I tell?
Or is this something better to bring to someone much smarter than me....

These batteries are seemingly only available in UK...(9v 5000mah per battery.)
