So I recently picked up this super cool vintage Astro tabletop pinball. I know this isn't a 'real' machine but I wanted to know if pinball playfield plastic refinishing techniques (i.e. Novus) would work for something like this. The scratches are not very deep but definitely noticeable. See photo. Thanks!

I'm going to give that a try, yelobird. Seems like cheapest route. I can test it on the side if the clear plastic that inserts around the body of the machine so it's essentially invisible when installed. That way if it doesn't work then it doesn't really matter. I'll post results . Thanks again!

The playfield is fine, its the clear plastic that covers it. Gonna try buffing with headlight restoration.

For anyone interested, I ended up using this stuff, purchased from Wal-Mart for $6. The difference is pretty amazing, about 90% of the scratches gone, it looks new with under 10 minutes of buffing by hand. The only way any scratches are even noticeable now are if I try to intentionally shine a light on the plastic to cause a glare. Compare these pictures to the original. Thanks for all of the advice!

    Quoted from vid1900:

    Isn't that Novus2 in a different bottle?
    Smell it.

It has a blue tint to it and sorta smells like windex in my opinion.

I hafta say this thing is pretty darn cool. Has functional pop bumpers, two kickout holes, an under playfield ramp with ball ejector and rollover switches. All mechanical, too. This thing is true engineering genius.
