Any time I ever got a game with the ground prong removed, I just cut the entire end off and throw one of these on:

Never replaced the entire cord.

It would work either way but should be connected properly to be correctly polarized. The Neutral wire (white, ribbed on old cord) should be connected to the wider blade of the new cord.
Look closely at the original cord and you should notice one side of the casing has ribs where the other side is smooth. Hook the white wire to where the ribbed one is and you should be all set. Look this up on google to confirm as it more of a household wiring question and I do not assume the liability.

See page 15 at this link for the cabinet wiring schematic for Time Warp.

In a commercial location, the electrical/building/safety/fire inspector will fail these if he notices them (I've had it happen).

I use them for home use all the time.

The BLACK (hot) wire from the new cord goes to the FUSE .

This ^^^^^^^ I did mine way back in a the day and had "color" issues as well. Go with the ribbed vs. non-ribbed as your indicators. Sounds like a trojan commercial.
