    https://www.adorama.com/ja1064606.html this Jamo S 810 SUB 10" 150W 2-Channel Subwoofer is now for sale for $109

Can this be used as an alternative to the popular but now expensive Polk PSW10 and just connected as a tap to the bass speaker wires?

Did anyone try to disassemble a subwoofer and just replace the old pinball speaker with the 10" sub and just stuff all electronics in the bottom of the cabinet?

Yes, you can connect this the same way you would a PSW10. They are both powered subwoofers.

Looks like this sub has no speaker level input connections, only a line level connection.
You would need to convert the speaker connection to a line input connection.

    Thanks @RCA1

So I found this as a cheaper alternative to connect it:

When I get my stuff in I will do a test comparing the speaker under the cabinet and speaker within the cabinet.
