Wanting to see if WPC DMDs can be exchanged between machines. Are there any machine specific ROM chips on the DMD?

    Thanks

Nothing to exchange. Swap DMD is all.

Isnt BSD a red display or is that just a film that turns the orange to red? Otherwise pretty much ANY DMD will work in any machine. Not counting of course the mega large ones in games like Maverick and Baywatch or the really small ones like in HOOK.

    Quoted from pinballshack:

It's just a standard orange plasma display behind a red tinted speaker panel. This is why when people put a ColorDMD in their BSD they have to also purchase a clear speaker panel.

The factory Babcock DMD in my BSD eventually dragged down the 5 volts enough to cause resets. Looked okay, caused resets. Replaced it and resets were gone.

I'm guessing you're not chasing resets, but original DMD's that old are always suspect. If the TZ DMD has the same issue, check your voltages on BSD. High voltage, so consult pin wiki if not familiar.
