I'd like to get a D&D, but if so I would like to fit it to take $1 coins. The coin entry on these coin doors is different than sys 11 / wpc. I'm not finding any coin entry plates that look like this at PBR or Marco, and I have no idea what happens behind the entry between the coin door and the coin mech.
Can anyone tell me if these doors can be fitted to take $1 coins?
The parts catalog doesn't indicate anything other than plates and chutes for quarters.

I can't say I've ever seen this style of door with anything other than slots for quarters.
