    Glass warming and expanding, pushing outward and cracking the laminate?

    "IF" that is what happened, one thing that would have helped is to simply build in more play or slop. Then the calking or silicon would hide the gaps and been flexible enough to absorb minor changes.

    I bet everyone who had anything to do with any aspect of the counter has concocted theories why it is the other guys fault. Looking forward to seeing the answer when you get to the bottom of it.
