Quoted from jfh:The cup holder is very cool and well done. There will be an entry for it in FAQ modifications tomorrow.
Thank you for the kind words!
I have 8 of the original brown cup holders ready to ship. PM me if you want one. I also have 1 walnut ( lighter brown) available. And 1 olive green (someone custom ordered one for a POTC CE and I made a 2nd one). Custom colors are available.
E6716F36-670C-4A38-84F3-33AD5CA7F019 (resized).jpegI will also have a spotlight cover that should fit CC coming soon. I just need to verify fitment. Here it is installed on MM. If you are interested I’m forming a list for CC. They fit right over the existing spot light with a little 3m tape.

I have 6 Spotlight covers are available for immediate shipping. After that they are made to order. Please PM me to order.
Thank you to Cldgin2 for testing and providing the installed pictures!

This one is printed FDM - the final will be Resin or sculpted so it will have no lines. One or both arms will have motion. And the hat will have motion as well….

They will do fake draws sometimes and real draws others. I may make the hat jump like the beer mugs or simply put it on a bobble spring. I’m going to also have a cactus or two on a bobble. I came across the same scenery on Amazon while looking also. I’m still trying to decide what to do. I was thinking about an ultra wide monitor too.
I’ll keep you updated of the progress.
I have the arms and hat on the printer right now.
Tomorrow I will run the large one in resin.
If you send me your email address I can send you a a clip of the ram in motion.
Best
My topper is complete! Now I just need the game to mount it to. Just waiting for leg-gate to work itself out before I pick one up. If anyone is interested in a topper without the character let me know. I can’t SELL the character because CGC asked me nicely not to, but I do have a few other ideas that can replace the bandit.

Quoted from MadEwokHerd:If I recall correctly from when I took out the speaker panel assembly that's a micro-HDMI port for the display.
You are correct. My MMR has a usb to the left of the Mini hdmi on the other side of the board so it’s out of view - they must have removed it for CC
Quoted from Menthelm:What is at the top of the glass below the speaker panel?
Looks like a comet pinball dmd glare eliminator
Quoted from Kerry_Richard:Idea... if you have any other pin(s) with good legs, maybe use them on CC and not play that other game till new legs arrive.
Better yet just put it on a crate like Whoa Nellie.
Quoted from alveolus:Apologies for the dumb question or if it has previously been discussed, but is it possible that the speakers are wired out of phase on the affected machines?
Defiantly possible
There was an issue on some of the early Alien machines that went out. Sound was quiet and muffled and it turned out one of the speakers and the subwoofer were reversed in the plug.
Maybe someone with good sound and someone with bad sound can post a picture of their speaker out plugs on the board and follow the wires to the L and R speakers and see if they match up.
Quoted from Ballderdash:What information do we have from CGC that tells us a topper off an LE or SE+ wont work on an SE if someone separates and sells theirs?
They could also have different code on the SE - VS SE+ and LE
Quoted from jfh:I guess I don’t understand your point.
Yes. Those connectors are to connect the topper cables. You absolutely can physically install a topper on an SE. But that means nothing if code verifies whether you can actually use it with the game.
Exactly, I’m guessing the topper will plug in, Gi lights will probably even work, but the game code for the topper mode probably won’t work.
They are having a similar issue in the stranger things form where everything is there to connect the premium projector on a pro including an HDMI , But when you install the projector and run premium code it’s still not outputting the video on the pro.
Quoted from daveddd14:So before PPL (Pittsburgh Pinball League) I saw this #PTC and thought of LTG and had to play but with the short legs I could make it through all 5 balls. Hopefully this isn’t on CGC’s remake list!
[quoted image]
Get shorter and play better. You have time before they release the remake.
Quoted from Gbailey069:Can someone shine light on what's the full story behind Richards game ?
Richard is in Canada and bought early on. Deliveries started happening to basically everyone else. Richard kept getting the run around. Latest is they can’t ship his game to Canada because they don’t have approval to put a required sticker on the box for customs - We have verification of other games in Canada. Despite all of the BS Richard is taking it all well and is a great guy.
Quoted from jfh:A comparison was made to Stern LEs and that you couldn’t get one unless you were part of the good old boy network. Those weren’t true. Unlike almost all Stern LEs which are spoken for/reserved months/years in advance (also before anyone knows features/pricing), CCRLEs were available to those that wanted one.
It’s still true regardless of how many times I say it
Never bought a new Stern before. I called a distributor that I never bought from before and asked if he could sell me an LE and I got it for MSRP no tax and free shipping. Good honest distributors are out there. You don’t need to be connected, If a good distributor knows you aren’t looking to flip it and have a passion for pinball or a specific game or theme they will take care of you if they have one available.
Quoted from explosiveegg:In fairness.
If memory serves me correct. He was blatantly copying CGCs topper.
Other people have made toppers for CCr that don't infringe on CGC or PPS copyrights, and I don't think they've been told to remove them. Such as this one: https://mezelmods.com/products/cactus-canyon-pinball-topper
I made the topper in question. Ryan at CGC called me and asked me to stop making it so I did. I have an old high school friend that is an IP attorney who said my character is different enough in look scale and operation to not violate their IP in anyway. That being said I never planned to mass produce them. I was selling them at cost for people that wanted their CC to match their other CGC games with toppers. So paying thousands of dollars to an attorney to win didn’t make sense on a project I was selling for at cost.
Quoted from explosiveegg:I don't know IP law, so you may be right.
To me, it does look like a blatant copy. Don't get me wrong. I think your topper does look really good.
I just think you're being dishonest if you're saying you didn't look at what CGC did and copy it in someway. From the matching belt buckle to the exact same facial hair and lip snarl to him bursting out of his shirt. There are way too many coincidences for all those things to have happened by chance.[quoted image][quoted image]
Never said I wasn’t aware of what the CGC topper looked like. I said mine was not a direct copy. And it was not made for profit.
Quoted from explosiveegg:I'm just saying you copied it. I never said it was an exact/direct copy.
You looked at what CGC made, and went into a 3D modeling program and recreated it. Copying doesn't mean you made a 1 for 1 replica. To copy is to make something simular to another.
There is almost no detail in your design that wasn't straight up taken from CGCs design. The number of buttons on the shirt. The style of the shirt. The three bullets on each side of the belt. The text and font of the belt buckle. The exact facial hair, unibrow, and hair. The red bandana. The left lip snarled. The pose.
You did copy their design. I think anyone with eyes can see that. It's blantent.
And you can't say you weren't using your design for profit when you were actively trying to sell them before you received a cease and desist.
Please don't think I'm knocking the topper you made. I genuinely like it, and even though I find it to be a copy, there clearly was a lot of work that went into making it.
To clear a few things up. I Was not “Actively trying to sell ”toppers. I have no interest in mass producing anything. I didn’t change my plan when CGC reached out.
Here is the full history of my topper project.
I made a barrel cup holders for my POTC and my MM - a friend who ordered CC saw them and said it would look good with the theme, So I made a cup holder for him and another friend who was also getting a CCSE. I gave them the cup holders on a pinball night and one of them sarcastically asked me if I could make them toppers too. The original plan was to make 3 toppers, two for them and one for me. Early on I decided to pass on CC for Bond so I no longer needed one for myself. I ended up making 6 of them because each one was a different test. I tried out different sizes and different printers some FDM and some resin. To my surprise all 6 turned out pretty well. The final build was 2 small scale toppers, two medium and two large. In each scale 1 is resin and 1 is FDM printed. I posted a few progress pics as I made them.
Ryan from CGC called me and very politely asked me to stop making them, he also asked me not to make my files public. Ryan told me Knapp arcade did a story about how CGC can’t get arms for their topper but some guy is “mass producing them in his garage” I told him never I spoke to Knapp and honestly didn’t know who he was and my only guess is he saw a few progress pics I posted and made assumptions. At the time Ryan called me 2 were already complete and sent out to the friends that asked me to make the project. And I was literally spraying clear coat on the others while I was talking to him on the phone. It was a very polite call and he even offered to call Knapp and ask to have the story taken down as it encouraged people to get in contact with me to buy toppers. To date I have never received a cease and desist nor was I directly threatened with one. Ryan implied the IP holders were concerned and in the past they have been aggressive in protecting the investment they purchased from Bally Williams and he believed this would be no different.
My goal was not to make money it was more of could I make it and shock my friends who never thought I could do it. I never designed a character before this one. I never wrote code for a servo before this project. And I never stained or routed wood before this project. So all in I spent several hours a day for the better part of two months working on this project and $1,800, so there was never going to be a profit made. Any thought of selling them was what the hell do I do with 4 extra toppers.
After CC I made myself toppers for POTC and Wonka. I made two for each game. One for me and an extra for parts or in case someone wants one. And I am just finishing 4 bond toppers one for my LE I’m giving one to my distributor as a gift and I’ll have 2 left over - then I’m retiring from the topper business.
Quoted from swampfire:Well, I’ll say what’s everyone is thinking: it’s an embarrassingly bad copy. If you care that much about the topper, wait for the real one to come out. IDGAF about the topper now, so I have no skin in the game. CC is a great pin!
There’s is much better looking with more detail as professional artists designed it and more importantly it’s interactive to the game, but to say embarrassingly bad I would love to see what you come up with.
Quoted from swampfire:Sorry for my opinion. I’m not an artist, so no custom topper for me.
No offense at all.
Quoted from Ballderdash:Let it die. Find something more important to do. Moving on.
Bravo! If only we could all unite and figure out a way to get Richard his game!
Quoted from Jeffster:Email received today from PPS said no update on tracking. And they reported that their messages to CGC go unanswered. WTF? PPS is caught between a rock and a hard place. They have to be CGC's largest customer and they don't even respond to them? Not even sure I want this now.....what's going to happen if/when we need repairs if we ever do get the game? Strange behavior indeed and has me concerned about their corporate viability. Something is not right here....
LTG has your back once you receive your game.
Jfh does a fantastic job with this thread. He definitely doesn’t deserve the crap he gets. He obviously likes the product enough to start and maintain the owners group so it shouldn’t be a surprise when he defends the product he believes in.
Now if you want to see a real $#it show check out the James Bond owners thread started by someone who keeps talking negatively about the game, cancelled his order and is now trying to auction off control over the owners group.
Just saying Jfh deserves some credit for all he does.
Quoted from fixintoplay:Welcome to the "I forgot to read the FAQ" gang. We're on parole... three strikes = out.
Quoted from srmonte:I got rid of my topper boxes. Could someone please post the dimensions of the box. I am going to go to fed ex and ups. Not hard to find out the cost.
I made several CC se toppers that I sent to friends and my average shipping cost was $88 plus about $10-12 for the boxes and foam. My topper probably weighed about half as much as the LE topper. I used UPS as they had better ground rates than FedEx and USPS every time for these.
I also recently sold my POTC elite topper that came in the big wooden crate that heavy SOB was about $165 to ship.
Quoted from EStroh:I've read every post on this thread after ordering my LE.
My first (and only) comment is this:
If I'm at a restaurant and the kitchen drops my steak on the floor JUST TELL ME. I'm happy to wait an extra half hour to get served. But if the response is to just keep the waiter (or waitress) from letting me know what's going on I'll surely get frustrated as I sit waiting... and waiting...
You can use the same analogy if you're waiting for your car to come out of service, sitting in a doctor's waiting room or at an airport terminal during a flight delay. Just communicate and I can decide if I want to come back later or wait "just one more minute". It's been said over and over on this thread - communication is 80% of customer service. And it's so easy! Am I happy to wait? Yes, I love my AFMr and its build quality is the best in pinball. Am I happy that I've passed on other games during the last year thinking that my game could ship at any time? No. I could have bought and sold several machines along the way while happily waiting.
But I was actually shocked to hear that the reason no one knows anything is because CGC doesn't like Pinside. How can you let your patrons know you dropped their steak if the kitchen staff doesn't like the dining area (where all its customers seem to be located)? If that's the case you should have at least one other means of communicating to your loyal customers. By all means, at least tell the waitress (or distributor in this case) so they can inform the customer.
And let the spinning start ... now.
I can't wait to hear how unreasonable I am.
CGC doesn’t like Pinside … they must not like their distributors too much either then or they could just communicate with them and leave Pinside out of it.
Quoted from transprtr4u:So how is it possible to have an OP changed on a thread ?
Just have someone start another thread where everyone that is unhappy with CGC can vent.
Quoted from Soulrider911:Hey Freinds here is a preview of the CC Gulp I am working on. Going to make a few tweaks and then I will start making these. If you are interested please just PM me and in the title have “CC Gulp”. This will be in two parts, the main body and the bracket that will mount it to the legs. The reason for 2 parts is in the case the bracket cracks from over tightening its easy to replace. So in these photos that bracket is not present, just and FYI
Cheers!
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Great job! Printing the bracket with 90-100% infill will really help them last.
Quoted from LTG:The license involves a lot more than one game that suffered delays. I doubt Scientific Games cares about that at all.
LTG : )
Does this mean no new run of MM from CGC?
