Nope nothing there, it would be major surgery.

I’m hoping they can figure out a way to do something up top without coils.

#152 2 years ago
Quoted from jfh:

I was hoping we might see hints if the playfields were ready for optional hardware.
I don’t see mounting space for any type of mechanism similar to the original saloon doors under the playfield or any related mounting holes though it looks like a top mount solution may be possible. Anyone see otherwise?

Sorry man, I don't want to be a party pooper, it ain't happening.

Not the original implementation perhaps. We’ll see eventually. Too many signs point to new hardware that would add to game play. The saloon doors are the most speculated option but the CGC engineers are pretty creative.

But to me that’s only the cherry on top. The game is already terrific.

What signs?

#156 2 years ago

I recall seeing a post where someone added the saloon doors without putting holes through the playfield. It was around November if I recall. Can’t find it at the moment.

Yes, but those were just cosmetic and not integrated with game play at all.

Unboxing video highlights? Maybe a how-to, for the newbies.

Depends on how many people are here to help. If just me and one other. Won't be possible to set up and run camera.

Minnesota is quite nice this time of year for anyone that wants to fly in to help Lloyd tomorrow. I’d go help but am frozen in here.

I added a shaker and Invisiglass to mine tonight. Easiest shaker motor install ever.

I actually beat Bionic Bart. It must be the Invisiglass as I know my pinball skills have not gotten better.

Hey, don’t be mad that I got the game shipped without a pre order. Just lucky I was one of the first to respond.

Some creative writing for the opening post while we impatiently wait for Lloyd and others to set up their games so we can live vicariously through them until our games ship.

“The Chicago Gaming Company remake brings the western theme back to pinball. Immerse yourself in an humorous imaginative world under glass as you protect the good citizens of Cactus Canyon from bad guy Bart and his gang as the newest sheriff in the west. Additional code, playfield details and technological improvements like RGB lighting, illuminated drop targets as originally envisioned, an extra large color display and the classic Bally/Williams look and feel brilliantly reimagines the last of an era for today’s players.”

Where is everyone buying these from? Are the distributors marking them up?

#175 2 years ago
Quoted from chrisjens2:

Almost all of the early shipments were pre-orders. Any distributor selling CGC games significantly above MSRP may lose their ability to sell future games so markups, if any, have generally been slight to cover credit card fees.

(And Lloyd’s game is to support Chicago Gaming so we all wanted him to have one of the first ones)

LTG congratulations!! Question, I see the cactus canyon you have there has art blades? Do they all come with them standard or did you quickly put some on.

Quoted from Heavyk:

Yes.

Quoted from Heavyk:

No.

My game ended up with some prototype stuff in it.

Would love the OEM art blades for my SE. Will probably have to settle with third party though

You just gave me an awesome idea for an update to the second FAQ question, now with a little nod to Lloyd.

And the arch and the trim and the extended warranty.

I've wondered this through the years. If I'm stuck on a problem. Who do I call ?

I always thought you had a direct line.

Does someone have a picture of the mine cart and track so I can see exactly what I'm missing and be able to hope someone makes a mod that recreates it?

Weren’t we just talking about the FAQ?

Take a look at the all new sculptures section from the official Chicago Gaming page: https://www.chicago-gaming.com/coinop/cactus-canyon

I have no doubt that modders will make versions of the LE ones.

Was that in the faq? I didn't see that sorry. So the mine cart and mine cart track just sit on top of the mine?

Yes.

Don’t know if it’s a new piece attached on top or an entire replacement for the mine cover. Someone who has seen one of the LE prototypes at a show may have seen it close. I’ve only seen a few pictures.

I’ve made some significant updates to the first post and the FAQ section.

Would appreciate any comments or suggested questions you may have either here of via PM. Thanks!

(A number of answers will have more detail added but please let me know if some details you are interested in are missing)
