Very nice section of your lineup. Are they number matched?

Congrats!
Love the four LEs in chronological release order though I’d have to resist the temptation to swap MMr and AFMr.

I certainly are Brad! Have the one ready for CCr as well. Just havent put it on yet.

Quoted from TC-5:Just got the call ! CCRLE Number 203 on its way to So Cal
I don’t think that’s the correct serial number if you’re getting an LE.
Quoted from jchristian11:I don’t think that’s the correct serial number if you’re getting an LE.
Thats what was relayed to me.... I'll circle back in 5-6 days once it lands to confirm
I must admit - having the other LE remakes and all coming with mirror blades I was a little concerned about the art blades on CCrLE. They are very glossy and look AMAZING. The game shoots great right out of the box with no adjustments. Very pleased. Home Run CGC! It was worth the wait.

Likely the LE number is correct. Consistent with notes I received this week, assuming a more recent DOM.

They should also have protective film on them to be removed. Check if you didn’t already.

That probably is correct, my mistake.

#184 en route, waiting too for delivery. Perhaps by end of next week!

Like sticky film that you peel off? No.

Quoted from Ballderdash:Playing around with ideas that could become “Saloon Doors”. There isn’t a spinner in this game and to me that’s a big miss. It would be a pretty simple addition though.
A very reasonable speculation, but perhaps too basic. What open connections are under the playfield? Your idea would only take one.

Nice. Buliding on your image, here is my guess. (Two vertical spinners). With a spring or something to return them to closed position after each pass.

How/where do you envision spring(s)? The black lines? Not sure the physics work.
Quoted from jfh:How/where do you envision spring(s)? The black lines? Not sure the physics work.
Black lines are supposed to be the post/wire of the spinners. Like a normal spinner but on its side. “Springs” not shown. And
Maybe not springs but some contrivance that causes the doors to return to a closed neutral position. Since they are vertical, gravity can’t do the job as with a normal spinner. I’ve seen things like that but can’t think of an example now.
Quoted from Ballderdash:Last one. Most ideal and realistic. Swinging doors on hinges. Spring shut to closed position.
That is more like what people think of when they think saloon doors.

Got it. Makes sense.

What happens on a direct strike of the center of either spinner in line with the wire? Couldn’t that damage the vertical post? I like your idea and played around with ways to make it work. But my concern is avoiding head on hits of the support system.
Quoted from Ballderdash:You guys are only 34 minutes away from each other. A meet up would be fantastic!
I stopped by lethal inc’s house to try and swap boards to see if it made a difference on the sound. It did not, sounded the same with both boards. He has his game next to a afmr and there is a very noticeable difference in sound power that cactus clearly doesn’t get too. Cactus doesn’t sound bad, but if you compare it to another remake, you may be disappointed.
Thanks again lethal for letting me come over to check out your very nice games, now I just wish I had more time with them!

You guys rock for doing this! If the board didn’t improve sound quality/volume then the issue could be upstream (doubtful), downstream (possible), or just different than AFMr and not a defect (likely). If you haven’t done so yet Lethal, I would trace your speaker leads to make sure the polarity is correct and nothing is running out of phase or hooked up wrong.

If its not the sound board with a straight swap , what would the issue? main board ?
odd but something not right !
thanks for doing this narrows down the problem a bit more .

What is left from the sound path? Wiring, speakers, anything else?
As @Balderdash suggested, polarity on the backbox speakers can affect sound more than you'd suspect. Especially with them sharing a common space behind the speaker panel. The easiest way to check that would just be to swap positive and negative on 1 speaker and fire the game up. See if it sounds better or worse.

Wires are color coded. Can compare orientation between someone else’s if they can send pictures of their +/- speaker terminals compared to the molex connector on their board. I don’t know from looking at the molex connector which is +/-. The orange and black wires appear to go to the woofer in the cabinet. And the grey ones to another quick connect before going to speaker panel. I don’t have the game so I can’t be more specific. I grabbed these pictures from our thread. That quick connect could easily be the culprit for reversed wires or even not being seated properly. I would start there.

I messed around with mine to see what’s different on the sound before I went over there and I just didn’t notice anything significant on our ccr’s, but hard to say if they aren’t sitting next to each other. We had checked the speakers and wiring and it seemed ok, so not sure where this leads besides knowing swapping the board didn’t help. He had both afmr and ccr set to volume 8 and you couldn’t even hear ccr to try and explain the difference of the two.

There’s an old 9v battery trick as well. Touch +/- speaker wire leads to the +/- terminal of the battery. Speaker should fire outwards. Reverse the wires on the battery to the -/+ and speaker should pull inwards. If any variance from left to right speaker you know there’s an issue.

Correct, but just swapping the wires on either 1 of the panel speakers then listening should tell you what you need to know.
Swap the wires at the panel speaker itself. Don't worry about the plug on the board.
