Quoted from Golgotha:

Ever get the feeling that ordering a NIB CGC game is like getting your significant other pregnant?
You get all excited when the decision is made, and invoice is received.
You have a model reveal party. YES, were having an LE!
You buy all sort of bling from Menzel Mods, Pinball Haus, Pinball life, Wizard Mod and Planetary Pinball to name a few.
You get the game room all setup for the new arrival.
You feast on pictures and unboxing videos while you grow weary.
You fight the temptation to become cranky with a bad attitude. "This is my first and last NIB CGC game!".
Labor pains kick in when you get the notice you are ready to deliver.
The long process has tested your faith and damaged a few relationships.
That lovely smell of virgin plastic as you remove the bag off of suffocated Bart. Call the undertaker!
That first DMD greeting by the Cactus Canyon splash screen.
All of the pain is gone, and you begin considering selling another pin to afford the next CGC creation.

ha ha.. that is hilarious! Comparing buying pins to pregnancy. Get ready to be smashed by the pinball woke community.. You know the ones, not awake and not asleep just somewhere in between.

Quoted from jfh:

Some of the people here apparently need an epidural for their pain. Others want the baby delivered in a month.

Hanging out on Pinside, is like taking Lamaze classes. I am grateful that I am not alone on this adventure.

Honestly, I find this about as amusing as jfh and his passive aggressive comments to anyone who expects better customer service from CGC (‘others want the baby delivered in a month’…TS4 and Bond actually have been delivering in a month or two, and that’s hardly what I’m asking for as I’m going on year 2 for CCrLE) . I stand by my assessment; their communication is terrible and lacking, this process has been completely disappointing, and I won’t spend my money with a company like this again regardless of the title. But again, CGC is so fortunate to have customers willing to shell out $10k and hold them to zero accountability or communication, while singing their praises and defending them at every turn. If I start a company that I’m woefully inept at running and unable to meet expectations, I sure hope I can find customers like you guys.

If you are so unhappy why dont you just get a refund on your deposit and move on to another game?

Rolex - They will put you on a 2-4 year waitlist, (sometimes longer,) due to their lack of inventory.
Ferrari - A typical one-off takes around 18 to 24 months to build.
Rickenbacker Guitar - traditionally over a year to eighteen months.
Ford Bronco - The waiting list is 18 months!

Even without the pandemic, luxury items had and continue to have a wait time. Now I'm not picking a side as I do feel a little communication goes a long way but CGC has been raked over the coals repeatedly. The wait time is the wait time and anything they do put out is twisted or used against them. They have been slowly getting games out and overcoming alot of problems along the way. FFS, people were buying toilet paper on ebay for $100 a roll 2 years ago because they couldn't get any.

Please remember, CGC is the manufacturing company not your distributor. Your wait time questions and anger should be directed to them, not CGC. That's the point that has been pointed out repeatedly. I truly understand your frustration, but you are waiting on a luxury product and as such have to have a little patients and expect a wait time.

Guessing I should call my distributor and find out when he's going to get the UL for the games to be shipped outside of the states...
Oh wait guessing this should be a manufacturers problem .
Someone in Canada spoke with Doug , apparently nobody getting them here till late fall 2023 ... so close to 2 year wait.

#9209 1 year ago

Not true. I’ve had multiple reports of people doing just that. Some distributors may not be aware of the policy by CGC to allow this for CCr. This has been the case since late 2021.

NO, YOU SHOULD STOP LASHING OUT AT PEOPLE! You know it's a manufacturing problem. Thats like yelling at the kid a Mcdonald's because they are out of apple pies. He has no control over that just like the distributor has no control over your countries regulations.

So why the exception now? Because you want the game and are willing to wait for it? You can’t have it both ways.

If CGC is so horrible get your money back and walk away. If your distributor gives you a hard time I’ll be glad to help get your money back or just buy out your your slot.

I get your disappointment and frustration and understand you want CGC to do things differently. You and half a dozen others rarely miss an opportunity to beat the same dead horse over and over or down vote anyone who disagrees with you (and I see you conveniently skipped over my points about similar situations with other manufacturers).

Your the one who said CGC shouldn't be responsible, distros are ...
Didn't see distributor informed that they will not be able to get the product only in the US..
Seems like someone managed to get the proper UL for all the other remakes, just another fail on this release.

No, it’s their normal direction. Most of those guys do the same with just about every LE.

It really sucks, especially when they get their games before people who actually want them. But that’s another problem that isn’t going to get solved here.

Please quote me directly from my post where I used the words "CGC shouldn't be responsible".

Yeah, because I didn't. Your wait time is because YOU want all the extras. You want a CCr, I have a distributor who has one right now I'll drive up to the boarder for you. But you don't want that one do you? You want the one with the topper and the cool apron.

Apologies...
Still don't see how getting pissed with my distro is going to help when CGC doesn't tell them dick.
Guessing distros outside of the USA would have assumed they would be able to get games when given allocations from the Manufacturer who again seemingly doesn't give a rats ass.
Going to be interesting to see when they release their own game if the same crap happens.

All good. Everyone is still running hot over a very good game. I would get more upset if you don't get your game when they announce the expanded code. Come on down and play mine if you need a fix. Can't be more then 18-20 hour drive. Better yet, Come on down for MGC in Wisconsin. I'll buy you a beer and we can play a couple dollar games on the CGC demo games.

Agree ...

Really wish they would get their shit together and do what do best ..

Seems like one step forward 3 steps back with this release..
Thanks for the invite much appreciated!
Actually driven further to pick up a pin .

On that subject, should I go to MGC or TPF this year? I was at MGC maybe 7 years ago but wasn’t deep into pinball at the time. I went for retro gaming and arcades with some tabletop and pinball on the side. The free play pins are great but I can attend local events for that. I’m more interested in bumping into industry people and playing games that manufacturers and their reps bring. Maybe announcements and seminars? Thanks in advance and don’t intend to derail this thread.

MGC is in the new location for you then and honestly, Dan has come along way making the show better and better. we had some growing pains the first few years but its really coming together now. Usually if something gets announced at TPF, we will also see/have it at MGC. I would expect Spooky to have a good presence as its their back yard as well as stern and CGC since they are just a couple hours away.

Unfortunately, we do not have the warmer weather so if your looking to get out of the snow and cold......but mgc will be cheaper

Same experience here. Guests not familiar with pinball tend to gravitate towards my CCr. That and GotG mostly. After Guardians kicks their ass hardcore a few times, they say "that Cactus canyon is my favorite"

Jhiggins623 and transprtr4u

This has been covered before. The PinballStar ad isn’t proof of anything. If you want a refund of an LE deposit from *any* authorized distributor and are told you can’t get one, send me a PM with details and i’ll help you get your deposit back. It works because people have been successful even after initially being told no.

(And I don’t believe the offer was made for SE+ orders which is what the PinballStar text references, though I’m not 100% sure on that. I’ve only been asked to help with LEs).

It’s so predictable at this point. If anyone says anything other than glowing about CGC, prepare for shaming and criticism and the typical ‘why don’t you just get a refund’. I purchased above MSRP for an LE spot because it sold out quickly. I lost money releasing an SE+ I had on order. I love the game and was prepared to wait, but I never imagined it would be this long and that there would be zero communication from CGC, so that my distributor (and all distributors) would virtually have zero updates to provide. Had I known the process would leave everyone so blind and take this long, no, I wouldn’t have invested the money. I’m still looking forward to the game, but the process has been terrible and disappointing. If I was building a company or trying to maintain a brand, I would be ashamed to run one like this. And Tallon your comparisons to Ferrari and Rolex are silly. Let’s not fool ourselves into believing CGC pinball machines are equal to fine Swiss watches or Italian luxury sports cars. And just so you know, when you order a Ferrari, you receive updates throughout every step of the manufacturing process. Because they value their customers and understand the full experience from order to delivery is part of their brand identity. And they provide a lead time in advance to set expectations. You win @jfh, I’ll not post here again. Well done on cancelling snd diminishing others, for being fairly critical of CGC. I hope my machine delivers sometime in 2023 and hope it’s as great as I thought it would be when I ordered it so many months ago. Appreciate the other realists on this string who have asked reasonable questions throughout this process (you’re not bad people as we have been led to believe!). Best of luck to you all.

I hate the quarreling here. But I see both sides. I would suggest you keep it less personal. Jfh takes some unpopular stands, but considering how much personal abuse and name calling he receives, I think he’s doing about as well as anyone. Stop making it personal everyone.

My favorite is the CCr LE + TS4 CE package deal for $25k. Reminds me of the food or beverage variety pack where they throw in the flavors that don't sell.

Please note, don’t reply back and ask “where” you are in line, everyone needs to wait to get notified, so please wait for that update and try not to ask before we notify you, unless you want to cancel or you really feel like you missed an update. If you don’t hear anything, your game is not ready.”

Quoted from jfh:

Quite a few PPS customers have received games. You can’t necessarily tell anything from when deposits were made though. Better to ask PPS where you are on their list if it’s important. (Not limited to PPS of course).

As stated earlier, I don’t think Sara at PPS wants people to do that.
jfh have you heard differently?

No, you are absolutely right and I should have pointed that out. Thanks for quoting her note.
My point was where you are in the queue determined by each distributor and not always by any one component of the process. (Sara, my apologies).

Agreed. However at this point the silent majority is getting fed up with the 5-6 whiny little infants throwing tantrums all the time. We all know who they are.

They should be quiet and let the adults talk. They might learn something.

Ahhhh god bless the generation of “me me me now now now” folks coming up into adulthood…. Fun times ahead.
