In Cactus Canyon, I am not getting the "Rt loop Top" on the trick shot loop ( the one with "great shot" and Gunfighter").

My rt loop opto is good but there is a switch under the table right before the one way gate that looks like an Eddy switch or a MRS switch (rt loop top). This switch is dead. When I unplug its connector under the table and plug it in again (while in the switch matrix), I hear it make a connection, but not when the ball rolls over it.

My question is: Is there a trouble shooting procedure to establish that the switch is broken. Is my best bet to replace?
