I just bought this game, I restore lots of games but primarily fix the electrical and mechanical parts of the game, not much cosmetic. The cabinet is in bad shape, rough with lots of missing paint, some water stains. The playfield is the same. It may have been stored outside for a period of time. For whatever reason I kind of like the way it looks. What I would like to do is get it running 100% mechanically and electrically but keep the present rough exterior but protect/restore the wood and stop any further loss of paint/color. Any suggestion on where to start and steps to take? Have I been watching too many Pickers episodes and been brain washed about "patina"?

Nice game, I restored one about 6 years ago. First clean the outsides using 0000 steel wool and Grease Lightning cleaner. That will remove any dirt and remove the loose paint. Beyond that is up to you to decide. You could repaint or just leave it the way it is, or apply a light clear coat to preserve it. I will attach pictures of mine after restoration. Good luck....

I just saw your post today. Your game looks great. Did you use a cabinet stencil? Did you make your own? If I decide to paint what colors/paint did you use? Thanks, Dale
