I've been involved in buying stuff from the U.S. before. Mostly with smaller items like softball bats but I'm not sure what is involved with Pins. Generally I always went with U.S.Postal Service because there would be no duty and occasionally remember to charge GST only (Alberta).

    Best practices?
    Preferred carriers?
    Duty and taxes?

    etc...........

I have bought at least four pins from the states, had them shipped by STI to their local dock for pick up. There is no duty on pinball machines as they are US made. You will however pay GST and PST. Also a brokeage fee of around 100 bucks if you don't want to handle the paper work.

You won't pay PST 'cause you live in glorious Alberta. Just GST - 5%

    Ya lucky Bastid.....
