Thanks for making us aware of this! Treasure Cove needs to make this right.

They've lost my business until they've done so.

Quoted from Kal_el:

I never got one with a visible serial number I don't think but I'll check. Hope the picture I just took is the serial number. If not, tell me where it's at and I'll get it.
I'll try and post the original pictures he sent me.

See my below post. MPU serial number matches cab serial number.

You obviously didn't replace the MPU.

This is 100% on Treasure Cove.

On a happier note, at least you've got one of the greatest pins ever! Dredd is a personal favorite.

(this is not to detract from how despicable Treasure Cove's actions are)

I still feel like there's an ethical concern here, what with Treasure Cove having unjustly accused the buyer of swapping boards and deflecting from the actual issue, even though this has been made right from a material standpoint.

Quoted from Dr-Willy:

hopefully if this is the case a locally pinsider will reach out and help him locally. I know i would if he was near me.

I've done that a few times for people from here and Facebook.

I think PayPal refunds can take a day or two to show up, but I could be mistaken.

Maybe Treasure Cove can post or send the OP a screenshot showing the refund issued?

#265 7 years ago

A list of Treasure Cove's lies so far:
Game is 100%
Buyer must've switched board
PayPal WAS refunded (clearly written in past tense)

Is there anything else I'm missing?

Quoted from treasurecove:

It was going?? So In other words YOU NEVER BOUGHT AND PAID FOR AN MPU BOARD LAST WEEK!! So Who is the f--in LIAR!! Just like you never sent me an email last week either!!

You sold a game with a bad MPU, lied about it, and unjustly tried to drag the OP's name through the mud.

Nice replacement MPUs don't come cheaper than $150. You got off with the lowest possible cost. Don't act like he doesn't need at LEAST $150 to rectify this situation.

SHAME on you for how you've conducted yourself here.

Quoted from treasurecove:

Do you even have a phone or use it?? No thanks..you cant bother to call me a week ago when you saw corrosion before you started all this? I would have gladly sent you a replacement board and tried to help you....I guess you aren't going to own up to your "supposed board purchase" you made either..or the emails sent last week? I seriously didn't see any corrosion before it left here...Believe it or not! I played 2 dozen games or more ..You have your $149 ...good luck!

That board is thrashed. You owed him a decent board.

I saw your email exchange before he posted here. He raised a valid concern, and you told him to pound sand.

Don't you DARE make him out to be the bad guy here.

Quoted from cosmokramer:

On a side note, how great is it that CHOGGARD has become an accepted term for a transaction that plays out the way this one has....

I still feel like Choggarded and Choggarding are better ways to verb his name.

#368 7 years ago
Quoted from PoMC:

Most everyone is harping on the corroded board that can be fixed by replacing it. But what about the other issues the game has? Those cannot be easily fixed by someone expecting a plug & play 100% WORKING pin. Now the OP has to spend time trying to repair on his own or pay someone to get the game 100%.

The switch issues are likely tied to board corrosion

Well if it isnt Larry Scott aka Metallik.. How ya been buddy? I never will forgot when my brother and I drove to Cincy about 10 yr ago to buy a few games from you. A HUO TZ and a few others we were looking at.. never will forgot my brother catching you telling fairy tales about how your HUO games were just regular route games. Nice but not HUO, everything way overpriced and we left empty with a lesson learned scratching our heads. Remember that? You are the pot calling the kettle black arent you!! What about ole Pinlicious and his Tshirts LOL!! See ya buddy

Fuck off. Larry is good, honest people. It's pretty obvious you're attacking him to deflect from your fuck-up yet again.

I was going to comment that it's good you took a step back after making the payment. Unfortunately it seems that's not the case. You're just making yourself look terrible.
Do yourself and your business a favor; step away from the computer for a while and settle down.

Quoted from markmon:

Why does everyone assume ill intent and that people are lying here?

.

It's clear that Treasure Cove told the buyer to pound sand until this thread was made. He said he went over the game and the corrosion happened in the past week (clearly a lie)

He called the buyer a liar and accused him of swapping boards.

He said he sent a refund when he hadn't. (I. E. Lied again)

That's not an assumption of lying; it's a clear demonstration.

3k+ for a JD...I am still like.
Matt you could have got a nice shadow for that price!

I've got Dredd and Shadow side by side. Both great games, but I prefer Dredd.

He paid retail, but didn't get gouged as bad as one might expect from a retailer. Plus, I think *nice* Shadows from reputable sellers may be getting harder to find for $3k
