New to being a pinball owner and I read instructions. Yes, I am one of those people.

So, I noticed that two of my games have a “Burn In” test in the system menu options. Can someone explain what this is used for or when would someone use it? Curious to understand what it’s purpose is.

Burn in the game - run everything. Factory may have done it before shipping.

I've never used it. In commercial use in around 30 years.

Basically, it's a full stress test to ensure everything is working without encountering a failure. Sometimes parts, components, or boards can fail after being stressed, and the "burn in" is intended to check for premature failures or faults before the game leaves the factory.

There's really no reason to activate it, unless you're a technician performing a significant board repair or replacement.

I like to call it the burn-out test these days.
