Does anyone know where I can find the EK pop bumper caps for Evel Knievel? I have had a hard time finding parts. The ones on mine are yellow and I would like some nice bright white ones.

Does anyone have the "EK" logo in a format suitable for printing your own?
Working on an EK - looked over on RGP and the story there is that there is some sort of licensing issue with "EK" bumper caps - PBR has hot stamped EK caps but cannot sell them -
PBR has the cap available without the "EK" which means I could buy the cap and make my own decal - it just seems silly that there seems to be capability and need for these and nobody selling them
Thanks!
I have the same problem. I've got a pair of those caps without the EK stamp on it. I have 2 pair of caps. One a little better than the other but It doesn't compare to the new bright white caps. I was planning to have my wife paint it on the blank caps.
I've got a vinyl cutter that I can do these on - I am just hoping someone else has done the art already
I remember someone was selling them on Ebay for a while. I think it was $45.00 for a pair lol. Anyways, I haven't seen them lately and sure they caught up to that guy.
The artwork is copyrighted and as far as I've seen has never been legally reproduced. Any art you find is going to be a bootleg. You could possibly make your own stencils and spray paint the tops of plain caps with some of the newer plastic compatible paints like Krylon Fusion. I think the originals were hot-stamped.

One of these days I have to teach myself Illustrator.
I'm semi proficient with Photoshop 7, but every time I fire up Illustrator; its like an alien world.

Can you make me a couple? Looks great!
I got mine from Steve at The Pinball Resource. He has replacement blank caps.
They are listed as:
'Blank'
Slant Top
Deco Color: Yellow, White, Purple, Red, Green, or Blue
Misc Games
"Specify Color" Deco Slant BLANK
Thought I would share my solution to this unobtainable part.
I bought the blank cap listed above, then had a friend make a stencil for the image.
Sure, a new hot-stamped part would be better, but this works well.
Painted with rustolium 2x gloss apple red.
PM me to learn more about how you can do this yourself.

I was just about to make a new post about needing the EK top bumper post when I found this one . I am about to finish a
playfield swap on a Evel Knievel and my EK caps are very yellow next to all the nice new white . I would love to buy some new ones
or pickup a stencil like I see used here . Man....it kills me that PBR has new ones .

I've asked PBR before, they won't sell printed caps. Trust me, I would have rather just bought the hot stamped new caps. So, buying blanks and doing stencils is the next best thing.

So he has them but cant sell them due to some type of copyright issue?
I used Brenna98 solution. I think I messed up, but now that I know what to do, I'm willing to try it again. Just have to get new bumper caps from PBR and a new set of stencils from Brenna.
I messed up by using a thin spray paint, then dabbing on a second coat. The dabbing lifted part of the stencil and ultimately, caused everything to look bad to me. In the game, since they are relatively far away, they don't look bad.
Now, if only we could find Space Invaders caps.
See if you can wipe off the messed up cap with paint thinner. Maybe you can reuse it.
Next time do multiple lite coats.

I sent him money for the decals, I hope he come thru.
I can make these- would be white vinyl, with the logo cut out, so the red color would come from the color of the cap. And as an added bonus, would therefore be illuminated. PM me if interested

Do you have a pic of this installed and lit up? Does the red cap under the white vinyl make it look pinkish when it's lit or does the vinyl block the light 100%?
After looking for the blank caps, I found that they are only available with white centers, and red outer ring- so I had to change things a bit. It will be red lettering decal, placed on the blank white center of the cap using transfer tape. My initial hope was that the entire cap was red- then the decal would have been white, and the lettering would have glowed red from the lighting coming through the cap. Vinyl is solid with no bleed so would remain red. Updated image:
20180617_094832 (resized).jpgI am making vinyl stencils for these. I am considering making a bunch if there is interest. PM me if would like this.
I scanned the art and traced / cleaned / corrected it in Autocad. Getting ready to do a run of these with my vinyl cutter. Stencils will be a 2x2 vinyl sticker with the yellow circle and tick mark (shown below) drawn in marker for alignment. I'm advising a stencil to be spray painted or airbrushed in lieu of a vinyl decal because the "EK" will eventually warp, shrink, and crack over time from the heat of the lamp. Paint should last the life of the bumper.
Quoted from vid1900:You can also just oxidize the old ones back to white[quoted image][quoted image]
Unfortunately, my friend has a broken cap and a missing cap. Do you have a guide for oxidizing? That looks awesome. I've seen mention of using hydrogen peroxide for yellowed playfield plastics. Is this the same technique?
I realized why everybody has broken Evel Knievel top bumper caps. When you lift up the Playfield the caps press into the edge of the back box and crack them.
I am working with my local printer and will post the results. Hoping to have them this week.

Looks great!!!
I just got my EK decals from the printer. They are printed on clear vinyl. This is another option! Will have to install then and see what they look like illuminated.

Yours look great too! I'll be curious to know how well the vinyl holds up under the heat of the bulbs.
