I was going to comment that the wrap on those pipes was probably asbestos, but I see you already dealt with it. I had the same thing in my first house, along with the knob and tube wiring, in fact the overall layout of your basement reminds me of my first house. It’s looking great so far, I would keep as much of the original brick exposed as possible, same with the pipes, I love the character it adds.
