I assume you have woodworking skills? Do you know how to use Sketchup? Personally, I don't attempt anything anymore without drawing it on SKP first. Reason being, when I hit the table saw, I don't have to think because all of the mistakes were made previously and all of the measurements are exact. Not a great picture, but here's a piece I worked on as I was thinking about the push button section and using playing cards to envision what it might look like. This is an interactive learning tool - I'll post a complete picture later, or you can see it at Pastime Pinball, it's only a 25 hour flight to NY then head 4 hours north.
