I have one since about 5 years now. Fun game. It's my daughters favorite.

I also just ordered a proc to finally install CCC in mine. Interested in all info on how to do this yourself

My mine motor stopped working. The tip102 on the small motor driver board under the playfield was bad. This is not the first time, I had already replaced it in the past.

Is this a common issue? Have others also needed repair? Or just my machine ?

So, original CC owners, what do we think about the remake?

Anyone worried about this making their original less valuable ? Not me, I have it already 10 years and am not really busy with resale value.

I really like how the game looks. The colored animations look amazing. Would be nice if someone can import it into CCC
I am very interested to learn how the software is now and what is changed.

The train tracks are a good idea, am going to try to 3d print these.

What's your opinion that it sold out so fast ?
I hope for many people it's going to be a keeper. It's an easy game but very fun, probably everyones kids will love it. I hope not too many will be disappointed that it's easy and flip it after a few months or start to talk bad about it.

I just put some 3D models in my shapeways shop:

Saloon doors and logo, this goes before the Bart head and hides the metal wireframe.
https://www.shapeways.com/product/7J7CTQCS3/cc-saloon-doors?optionId=237263206&li=shops

Small trainstation building to hide the metal box and gears.
https://www.shapeways.com/product/RWL3TEUEV/cc-trainstation?optionId=237262031&li=shops

You go from this:

To this:

Note that the models from Shapeways come in white plastic, you need to paint them yourself.
I don't intend to start painting and selling them myself, shipping from Europe is too expensive.

Added over 2 years ago:

If someone in the EU wants to order them painted then pm me.

Quoted from WolfManCat:

aeneas, thanks for the mods. Got them painted and installed today. Really enjoying the new look.

Thanks for posting!
I'm glad you like it.

I was amazed myself how much they change the look of the game.

Quoted from Nepi23:

Anyone tried, would this railroad mod fit to classic CC? The website does tell that it is for CCR only, but it might be that they haven't had a chance to try to install it to a classic CC.
https://www.ulekstore.com/Railroad_Train_Track_MOD_for_Cactus_Canyon_Remake_p/cgc_ttmod.htm

Original CC's don't have holes in the metal rail so you'd have to drill your own or use something like double sided tape to attach it.
Dimensions wise I think it'll fit.

Check if all the leds on the powerdriver board are on ?
Can you enter the menu, does it give an error there ?

I made train tracks for the original CC. The metal train ramp is completely different from the remake, so tracks for the remake won't fit, as far as I know.

I designed some hooks so the tracks hangs underneath the metal ramp, and the pinball can still pass.

Aa shipping from my country to the usa is expensive, I plan to send 1 package with all my mods to someone in the usa, who can sell them via their shop.

I was wondering if people are interested, and how many I should make. Price will be between $80-$100 (depends on shipping).
Please pm me if you want it.

Funny thing my daughter told me casually yesterday.
She started to play pinball very young, when she was 5 or 6 she really loved CC.

Yesterday she played it again after not having played for many years.
Told me she still liked the game, and that she had found a trick when she was young:

when the bad guy drops pop up in showdown, she would quickly open and close the coindoor.
Cutting the high-power circuit would cause them all to drop.

I never knew she did this and even didn't realise you could cheat like that. At 5 she was smarter than me
