Quoted from BrewersArcade:

Continuing on with repairs to my BTTF. During sound test, the right speaker is much quieter and sounds thinner than the left speaker and subwoofer. Wiring to the right speaker is intact/untouched and its the original Data East speaker. Could the sound board need a cap kit? I've reseated the connectors on the soundboard and reseated the socketed chips with no change. Anyone else had a similar issue?

I have a similar situation. Once in a while, one of the speaker panel speakers (usually the right side and usually occurs when the machine is first turned on) will be much quieter than the other. I find that if I touch the volume potentiometer with my fingers that the sound comes back. There seems to be a bit of static noise but then it comes back.... much like touching a radio antenna when losing the signal. Not sure if its a board issue, grounding issue, potentiometer issue, or what???

Quoted from BrewersArcade:

You sir are a genius. Of all the things I never tried messing with the volume pot! Tweaking it fixed it and I sprayed some electronics cleaner in there. I’ve been racking my brain!! What an easy fix!

Now I have to ask... how exactly did you tweak it? Thanks

Quoted from BrewersArcade:

Honestly I just adjusted the volume. I actually pushed on the volume pot stick and I guess my connection is dirty. Works great now. Can't believe I never tried just adjusting the volume. Its located inside the coin door (but I'm sure you know that)

Lol. Glad its fixed. Now play that fun game!

Quoted from toyotaboy:got my plastic set today. Beyond the plastics, there are extra goodies as usual (data east keychains), every plastic protector, two of the plastic that's in front of the pop bumper (since this is prone to breaking).
And yes, I still intend to get the ramp made, have to get my game setup again in the basement and recheck everything. Also I was wanted to fund the tool myself, pretty sure I have enough at this point.

Care to sell that extra plastic that goes in front of the pop bumper?

Finally got some side art decals for BTTF. Blends in nicely I think.

Quoted from BrewersArcade:

If a new BTTF pin comes out will the Data East version retain its value?

The new one will not be a remake so it shouldn't have much direct impact at all. The new attention to the theme may, however, generate renewed interest in the DE version. Just my opinion.

Quoted from Boof-Ed:

The data east pin over here in Oz is ridiculously priced now, even before any new ones are made.
Around AU $11000 or US$8500.
Sad part is they don’t last long at that price either.

Wow. I need to sell my DE to someone down under!
