IMO sometimes color GI is BETTER. BSD is one where it looks good if you are going for a "spooky" feel.
The very bright BSD above loses that feel IMHO.

I personally prefer to keep much of the GI as incandescent bulbs because they still don't really have an LED that gives me the exact same look. Adding in color, trying to make sure I don't color bomb the artwork on plastics, etc. It takes a lot of trial and error to get a game just right in my experience. You think something might be a good fit -> change the bulb -> if it doesn't work try another or swap it back.

A small number of colored bulbs can have a pretty big impact.
