Purchased this project several years ago with a view to build a nice example of BSD for my collection.

Hoping to draw on the great resource that Pinside provides, other owners willing to help with photos and information when needed.

The game was purchased from Coin-Op Warehouse in Hagerstown MD and shipped to me here in Australia in a shared container. Most of the boards were missing in the head, no playfield or translite glass, translite and few assemblies missing from under the playfield.

Brought the game inside today to set it up and clean the cabinet. Whilst the red artwork is faded, it came up nice with a clean using Simple Green and nearly a complete roll of towel paper. The amount of grime that was wiped from the cabinet was amazing. Unfortunately the cabinet art has wrinkled around the legs, but that's the least of my worries.

I'll focus on a complete shop out of the playfield first. Once that's done, it should provide me with a list of what parts are required. Reassemble with new rubbers and globes, then turn my attention to the boards and get it running 100% before I decide which way to go with the cabinet. A full restoration, strip the old decals, sand, fill, sand, seal and install new decals or buy a new cabinet. Not sure yet what is the best option.

The playfield itself should clean up well and shine with a good polish and wax. Lots of grime to be cleaned off once it's stripped down. The shooter lane will take some work to correct.

Under the playfield. The single drop target assembly is missing along with most of the mist magnet assembly. Thankfully some of that was found in the lower cabinet. Notice the knot in one layer of playfield ply?

The cupboard is bare. Even the mounting hardware for the display is missing, the nuts and plastic spacers are gone. Found the fish paper that covers the display in the lower cabinet as shown above.

Now that the cabinet is clean, next step is to start disassembling the top of the playfield. Hope to get to that tomorrow and will add more photos as I go. Really looking forward to bringing this one back to life!

Thanks sven , I have high hopes for the playfield. With a good clean and polish it should look really nice. I plan to update the thread as I progress through the restoration.

Lloyd lists everything on his Facebook page, all things pinball usually sell in minutes. Whilst I have a real disregard for FB, I created an account specifically for pinball and initially just to view his for sale listings. I must admit it has come in very handy over the years. Just don't get sucked into the FB vortex!

That is great news, thanks for chiming in I appreciate it and will definitely look those up on Kerry's page. Have bought many things from him over the years, great bloke is our Kerry.

I agree, hopefully the majority of parts needed will be standard, stocked WMS parts. Will need to order some new mounting hardware, screws and so on as some of it will need days in the tumbler and might just be easier to buy new as the plating on some screw heads look to have been damaged. The wire ramps will definitely need to be replated.

Right hand lower side. No need to replace the slingshot plastic, why not drill some holes and tie it together with a piece of laminated coil winding, works for me!

As can be seen in the photos, the corrosion on some of the hardware is a problem. I'll clean everything then make a decision whether to send off for replating or look for replacements.
