Hey all, my bsd was working fine but I decided to upgrade to nvram for the first time. When I socketed the chip and installed the ram I plugged it all in and everything seemed fine at first but then the game started acting strange and shutting down. I tried reflowing to be sure my socket was good and same thing. Unplugged and checked all connections and still the same results.

The settings all save as if it's working properly and then after a few minutes the game will start slam tilting and go into some weird tests then shut down and hum. Is the ram bad? Or is it good and I have to change something?

Is it oriented in the correct direction in the socket?

What NVRAM adaper are you using?

Put the original ram and batteries back in. It the problem persists, your socket installation is the problem or more a remote possibility your NVRAM is bad.

The NVRAM can be damaged by inproper handing caused by static electricity if you are not grounded by a ground strap or other work-around method.

I cut some of the legs on the original ram when I pulled it so that's out. I did however turn the game on today and played for 2 hrs and it's working so..... I have no clue why. I literally touched nothing from when it shut off last night and the room is warmer not colder than last night.
