People have hard opinions on things...but they are such a minority. Like the mustang being a solid rear axle.......

The 2.3L ecoboost has some serious power for the size. I had one in my Focus RS, 350hp, the mustang can make some big power and I have one in my 2020 explorer. The explorer in sport mode with the 2.3 moves waaay faster than you would ever expect a 3row suv to go. The 2.7 eco is going to be a big engine but I'm not a fan of auto trans. The 10spd in the explorer is very nice, the goat aka condition select is nice, but I mean for daily driving...it just is annoying to choose.

I've owned a jk wrangler rubicon HR and while I love and miss it, there are things about it that are annoying. Also most drivers of these do not rock crawl. So the front of the bronco being IS is totally fine and with the suspension travel I'd be impressed if someone could max that vs a solid in normal off-roading consistently.

The jeep drives like a freaking lumbar wagon and that is comfortable for a jeep. The older ones must feel like crap. The transmissions are good on the Jeep but the engine, 3.6L is sooo underpowered, however I liked it as it is considered reliable. The jeeps hinges...yay brand new jeep and you have rust Lack of creature comforts is huge! the JL has added more like heated steering but they still have no competition so why push the jeep more when they can bring the price up and sell more! The competition is welcomed. I want both to become better vehicles and hope even the Xterra is brought back Or the FJ! Chevy already shot themselves in the foot with that weak blazer release.

The top on the bronco is sick. The front row and 2nd row can independently be removed. Ford accessories will offer TONS of aftermarket with warranty and I assume most jeep accessory/mod places will start making bronco parts too.

Some of the best parts, are bronco offering things that really put the middle finger up to the Jeep. An option to get your bronco without carpet and drain plugs. Hinges not outside to rust away, mirrors that are attached to the body, 35" wheels as factory... hahhaha Ford did a fantastic job on this. All i want now is a truck version and I'm set.

    Quoted from Jaybird815:

The Mustang is now IRS, FYI, and man what a difference between my 17 and the 10 I owned.

Ya, I assume you like the irs? The camaro proved it worth with track times and some years back the mustang finally did to, yet “so many” fans wanted to keep it solid.

Lots of purist Jeep people think the 4 door wrangler was a travesty but it probably saved the wrangler, and now it sells well with some creature comforts...the car manufactures know what the market wants...and the market is what makes them money not the handful of loud people... although I suppose it’s the same as pinball :-p

I am a Ford dude and like what I see. Throwback styling with modern flare. Not too sure about that cutout in the door although it will make shooting approaching carjackers much easier. The biggest question is will it hold a pin?

    The 4 door will

    Quoted from TomN:

Short story on the Jeep Wrangler..I bought a brand new JL sport. Had around 11500 miles on it when the "Death Wobble" started to happen. Took it to the dealer and they installed a stabilizer that did nothing. Drove it 200 miles one weekend and it shook 16 times on one trip alone, another 12 on the way back. I was driving on the expressway when it started to shake after just about every bump I would roll over. Sucked big time as I was a fan and really wanted to like this car. Took it back to the dealer and they had it for three days and said they couldn't recreate the problem. Long story short I came to find out they didn't drive it at all other then to park it in the lot and let it sit. Basically they tried to get out of the warranty work. I know this because I checked the odometer after I dropped it off. Hadn't changed at all. When I confronted the service manager he apologized and offered to look at it. Lol! At that point I was super pissed and couldn't deal with the lies. In my opinion it's simply an overpriced and poorly engineered POS that is in serious need of some competition. Hopefully the Bronco will provide this. I think I payed almost 40K for this car. Potential buyers beware. The axle shudder or "wobble" is real and to my knowledge they don't really know how to fix it. I wouldn't take a Wrangler if they were giving them away.

I was just joking that ford should tune in a death wobble for those Jeep fans... mine never had it, but my buddy bought a new JL and he did. Man sounds scary, sorry you had issues with it

Man the old off road rigs are so gorgeous, the fj, discovery, bronco, Jeep, etc I was hoping Chevy would get back with their blazer :/ now I’m hoping the FJ and the xterra make a come back, he’ll I’d even like to see a new Honda Element. The competition will improve the game for everyone, which Jeep needs as they keep jacking up prices without changing much

    Quoted from tomdrum:

Historically Ford actually created the Jeep in a way. During WWII the war department gave Ford the Willy's design because of Ford's massive manufacturing capacity. They used common design parts to roll out millions for the war effort. It was called the "GP" general purpose which is claimed started the "Jeep" nomenclature.
I've owned 2 1st generation Bronco's and they couldn't of been more different. A 1967 with a 289ci engine, 3 on the tree and vacuum wipers. Bare bones as they came. Later got a 1977, last year of Gen 1 and it was loaded. A 302ci, automatic, A/C, P/S and brakes, full headliner and interior trim package with even trim panels in the rear.

I saw one of those ford things at a local car show the other year! Never knew they existed! Pretty cool. Dang don’t have a pic, but found one online https://c7.alamy.com/comp/C7WP4B/ford-general-purpose-jeep-willys-C7WP4B.jpg
