Next challenge- After replacing the rubbers, I noticed an unusual post set into the playfield behind/along the right side of the trunk. I now realize that the original post has broken off and the one behind/on the side of the trunk was added.

How do I extract or remove the broken post? I have an extractor set, but I am not sure I will be able to drill it out. I'd like to reinstall the orignal post and get rid of the other one.

Thank you for your suggestions!

The trunk bracket screws into that from under the playfield if my memory serves. Lift the playfield to confirm.

The T nut is for a screw from the underside holding the trunk mechanism in place.
The small post above the bigger post has been added.
Nothing broken there.
I imagine it plays ok.

You are both correct. Thank you. Now what the hell is that other post there for? I had removed it, but the ball got stuck so I put if back. But I don't think it's supposed be there.

It’s not supposed to be there. Folks added posts to stop ball hang ups. But it’s not really needed.

Somebody put it there to keep the ball from getting stuck there when the trunk rotated counter clockwise.
