    Playfield plastics break. They are expensive or impossible to replace. The vulnerable ones should be protected.

    There are a few outfits that sell kits to protect many of your investments:

    I've learned to make them by hand with polycarbonate and a belt sander from HF.

    Here's the question:

    What plastics have you ever seen broken in your collection or elsewhere?

    I'd like to build a master list so that people can quickly get a sense of WHICH plastics tend to break in which games.

    Thanks for your help in building this resource.

    (note: Eventually we'll get a reference to EVERY single SS and many EM's so there's no point "linking" the game up top)

    Rollergames right above the "Multi-ball" drop targets. Every single one in the world is broken.

    police force cocaine cartel plastic. Everyone of them is broken. Data east simpsons center drop target plastic and left itchy and scratchy plastic running down left of machine under habitrail. Demo man small center target plastic. Basically any game center targets covering plastic ALWAYS break. So do slingshots.

    The front plastic around the dummy dunk on Comet. It breaks in two sections. Once place around the back of the comet ramp and the front right between the dummy and the ramp.

    Sling shot plastics on TAF. My Gomez one (right hand side) was broken when I bought the machine, they are almost impossible to get. Bottom corner is broken off.

    Whirlwind: I my case when you get an airball from the center 100K w/lit stand-up target: The sign on top of the plastic that over the skill shot droptargets.
    Earthshaker: Plastic over Zone 1 stand up target and plastic over Zone 5 scoop.

    On my Rocky & Bullwinkle:

    1. The plastic to the right of the WABAC ramp
    2. The plastic to the left of the WABAC ramp (featuring Cleopatra)
    3. The long piece that goes under the sawmill (featuring a Snively Whiplash graphic)
    4. The shooter lane cover (featuring a bespectacled Boris Badinov)

    On my TOTAN:

    1. The right inlane divider (with the mosaic pattern)

    They really need to make a full set of JM protectors.
    The Shadow - seems almost all of them were at least cracked on my machine when I got it. I can't believe nobody made the protectors before I sent my plastics to Pinbits.

    You can probably remove all the specific slings plastics and just put all slings. I'll add getaway rpm plastic above the slings and BSD center target bank plastic

    Space jam - the plastic opposite the monstars drop down targets is broken on nearly every game I see.

    Big Game:
    'One thing that any body should do is make a protector for the plastic for the upper left target bank that has that small "teardrop" projection at the bottom. This piece is broken off on most games that I see.'

    NASCAR, the long skinny plastic beside the right ramp. Plastic #17. This one was built to break.

    Pinbot, the plastic cover with the shuttle decal on it over the vortex. They tend to take impacts towards the front from fast balls, and we have seen the example of the chipped corner on the vortex top by the 20k drop.
