I was changing from a idc to molex and then read when doing that the header pin should also be changed. The wire doesn't stop at the connector but continues on. I'm going to stay with idc. I broke the wire while removing it from the partly done molex. How should i fix the broken wire?

Get some heat shrink tubing. Strip both ends of broken wire.Put sleeve on one side of wire twist wires together and put on a dab of solder(not necessary but extra precaution) Pull sleeve over connectiona and use heat gun or hair dryer to shrink tube over wires.
