I'd be interested in your KISS. Is that a premium? I wouldn't have the pinball fund for awhile, though.

Is that your egg head on Craigslist?

So what’d you snag in your travels?

#152 3 years ago
Quoted from brobra:

If anyone within my range wants to ship games to get premium pricing, I’m offering up my bullet proof packing services. I’ll charge an hourly rate plus materials. Your customers and trading partners will be impressed. Plus the games can practically fall off the truck. I’m telling you, no one wants to deal with an insurance claim.
I can also handle the logistics, to make things easy for you. I do the leg work and heavy lifting, you can sit back and sip your favorite drink.
[quoted image]

That's some great packing! I definitely would consider using you if I ever needed to ship a pin.

Quoted from brobra:

Charlie Rules....
Check out how gorgeous this baby is...
I’m so excited for Charlie’s Boards (and Charlie you need to TM that and brand it. Who wouldn’t want a “Charlie Board”; has a ring to it, bro)
Get Ready for the freight train coming....

What putting that in?

Quoted from brobra:

I probably need to buy a set of these quality gems for a few games.

I just print out apron cards from pin side on photo paper.

We should talk about that.

What?!? Sell or trade your whirlwind????

#735 2 years ago
Quoted from brobra:

The last in person auction was during covid and seemed light. Arcades, jukeboxes, parts, arcades from table top mega touch to seated driver games, and a few whacky pieces; which I favor.
Pins historically occur at the end. 8 am -10am, inspection. 10am auction mostly starting with junk, and ending with pins. Pin prices seemed high last time, but supply was light.
Auctions attract a lot of operated machines, so can be hit or miss, but gems may be there.
(Look up and don’t quote me, but...)
I think 13% buyer commission, 10% seller commission. 3% credit card, and perhaps other fees.
*The Fine points....there is a $10 seller buy-back fee. Meaning seller can outbid buyer at a $10 penalty.
I don’t necessarily disagree with the rule, but being an ignorant buyer (not knowing that rule) can catch a newbie with his/her pants down...

Plus 7% Iowa sales tax

What? No whirlwind

1 week later
#2345 1 year ago
Quoted from brobra:

Here’s the breakdown on whirlwind.
- Original silkscreened cab looks decent, easily filled, and touched up to look clean.
- mechanics, inside cab, and you under playfield look fairly clean. Replace sleeves, check pistons, and rebuild flippers.
- topside has seen some Brobra mileage. Insert damage, worn spinners, crumbly posts, average to poor ramps, crakes plastics, nasty bats, etc….
- if I’m going to drop $750 on ramps, star posts, rubbers, pop bumper stuff, plastics, bats, flipper rebuild, etc, I’m seriously considering adding $900 for the new playfield…..
- I’ll be into this guy for a nice point even when it’s done….
So, do I pull the trigger?[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Easy question, Yes!!

Quoted from brobra:

Happy that Jumping Jack is up relatively easily. New rubbers, warm comets, and a good cleaning. Time to play, and check mechs, and fidelity of components.

Nice! Only 10 reels? I’m trying to deal with 20 problematic ones on stern pinball!

If you have a high end shipment some times you need brobra insurance…

Something doesn't look right on that 494 picture!

Brobra shipping is the best!

Quoted from EJS:

I give up where is that? Looks like one of the Carlson towers on the right but only one building. I recognize it I’ve probably driven on that road a half million times. I wonder if he’s on 100 or 169? Knowing where Brobra lives 494 does make sense though.

I’m a train guy as an adjacent hobby, recognized the overpass, LOL

#2624 1 year ago
Quoted from EJS:

You got it! Mine is even the old cast too.
Someday I’d like to add 2 more chimes to make it a P5. Unfortunately after being mounted under a truck for many years the hardware rusted so bad they are frozen. We are working on getting them removed.
Good news is most parts are cast aluminum and are in good shape.
It’s impressive how little volume of air is needed to operate. I think they are rated up to 150 PSI but personally like the way they sound 130ish
Friend of mine who is now retired from the railroad said they used to toss these things in the garbage…which I find hard to believe.

Awesome pics! Yeah, railfanning full size trains, Hiawatha grain district is my favorite spot. I sold my n scale collection to get into pinball, eyes can’t handle n scale. I was a founding member of north metro model railroad club in Coon rapids. They do HO. I plan on joining again at some point.

Quoted from EJS:

Do it for a few months then sell me the Seawitch I’ve been wanting one. (Not desperately it’s a “maybe someday”)

He’s getting a Led Zeppelin premium! LOL
