Kind of dig Spooky’s Loony Tunes. It brought me back to eating Froot Loops in my room underwear…

Had a hard time getting into queen.

Jaws grabbed me a bit. Took me a while to hit that shark fin.

So had to improvise on the standard rubber for the accelerator mechanics on big shots.
This setup works better than the original.

Used to small rubber rings on each pod topped off with a small flipper rubber.
The mech rotates and accelerates the up the ramp.

Pretty cool feature..

When I found the game, the stock rubbers were melted, and there were gooey ball trails all over the place, lol.

I can’t stop feeding my wedgehead addiction.
All projects that will need a significant amount of work. Also some odds and ends I may go back for….the wife gave me a great look when I got back in the truck. She can’t stand the word “project”, lol.

Spirit of 76, cross town (not pictured), sweet hearts, stampede shooter, tank arcade, cig machine, Ami 54 jukebox…

Couldn’t quite get this one going for a buddy, so I dropped it at Yoda’s.
Turned out nice, setup, and back in action….

I’m in the middle of my longest running pinball trade…fish tales for ghost busters even, ghost busters pro plus some for wonka Le loaded 200 plays….on to lotr color dmd with Bill Davis clear-coated playfield…. Plus some that I’ll invest on cab paint and decals….

I’m off my rocker, but having fun, and pretty sure I’ve got the best of it at the end of the day….despite the extra miles and extra effort….

The best part is, the families spending time with one another, and enjoying pins together.
On the other side of each trade, is a father and son/daughter who is getting the game they want most…I’m more than happy to deliver on that front….

Stay tuned….as a I make an epic trek, through the wind-swept, sun-kissed prairie, slicing and dicing

Priceless…..

Stopped by a friends today to drop a pin. Had a chance to see what he was working on, which is too much. One highlight was this gorgeous new playfield installed on a Bally Star Trek. So nice to see these older games brought back to luster….had me salivating ofcourse….CPR plastics and playfield.

Friday Night fun! Setup and checking out my roached out barn find 1966 Gottlieb crosstown.

Despite the filth, the pretty is in good shape, the base cab is ok; the head and glass are blown out, surface rust all over….I have my work cut out here.

Hitting the basics, clean and vac cab, select rust mitigation, clean reels, check switches, lighting, clean playfield and get playing right.

Happy that have all plastics, posts, and the subway door is complete and partially operation.

At first glance, she boots, flips, and scores, which is flipping amazing due to the dormant, neglected state she’s been in for the last 25 years at least.

After that, perhaps pass on as a project for the next guy.

No backplate on this one either. The guts on this one are in great shape fortunately. Cabinet on the other hand….not so much.

Does it play how it should? I don’t dare try this one out I’m afraid to break it just looking at it.

Quoted from EJS:

It was playable for a while, but I see there’s work to be done. I’ll start light gentle cleaning and delicate repair of mechanics.

#3067 3 months ago

This filthy playfield is starting to clean up well. I’m very happy with its condition. Some very minor planks revealed but no much else. The artwork is nearly perfect. The inserts are in good shape also. I’m using some elbow grease with a very diluted degreasing solution to get her as clean as possible. Over the last few years, as much as I like Novus products, I try my best to stay away from them. I’m trying to pull the dirt without invading the finish, as I don’t intend to clear coat, and with most antique games, I’m more of a preservationist than a restorer. While restoration is great when done very well, there’s something visceral about cleaning and preserving.
Unfortunately, the head and glass on this game is too far gone. So there will need to be aesthetic decisions made at some point. Right now the focus is cleaning to an acceptable level, getting playable, and start enjoying it.

Nothing but good things to say about Chad. He is a man of honor and integrity. We exchanged pins in North Dakota without problem. I intended to help Brobra with the pin exchange but he can move a 375 pound pin like it's a paper weight. If you ever have the chance to deal with Chad, do not hesitate. He is definitely the real deal. My only regret is that my Father and I didn't get to talk to him longer. Chad is an asset to this small but quirky hobby. Thanks again Chad for an awesome pin and an epic trip for the ages.

Paul, first off, I love you man!
We got to know each other fairly well through our conversations and messages, where you feel like a friend to me. I know your dad was cooked, and I did arrive 45 minutes past what I I had initially anticipated.
I did enjoy meeting you and your father, getting updates about your travels, and I’m very satisfied with the fruits we both received.

I’m starting a new thing, I’m calling it the Brobra badge, with different levels for different efforts. We’re all Brobra’s, and my best buddies, I address as Brobra also.

So, in recognition of your exceptional service to the brotherhood of pinball and arcade enthusiasts road-tripping freaks of nature, I present you with the highest ranked Brobra achievement badge.

Sir Paul wombat receives the Gold Star Brobra badge for the achievement of 1053 miles 18 hour one way trip to be part of stellar trade, and for doing the right thing and enjoying time with your dad.

I look forward to seeing you again, my friend.
Until then, may the road rise to meet you, and may the wind be at your back.

Here’s a little recap….

#3073 3 months ago

Here’s a closer look at lord of the rings, pre-decals and playfield swap.
The game has solid bones, good characters, plastics, and gorgeous brass plated habit trails and ramps. Should look really nice when done.

I suggest you go to say hi to LTG at SS Billiards.
Plus you need to meet Snow Flake. A true operator’s dog. She tried to eat the dime I dropped….
Had to ditch the signature raybans for some Prada glasses, on this occasion.

Something I really love about Gottlieb glass is trying to decode it, unpack it. The girl with the nice r*ck on the left, appears to have hotspots for Genie. Genie Fever.
Nowadays, stuff like this is mundane, but in the context of older times, these were fairly racy images.

Major day today. Moved two juke boxes, and two separate pins. 10am through 8:30pm. Just got home now have to clean this mess, as I’ve put under the gun to deliver, and well….its my problem, so I’m goi g to deliver.

Couldn’t resist dropping a gem on loan to a friend who has helped me in unbelievable ways. I have unmeasurable respect and admiration for him.

Thank you to all new and old who send and to my sails….i love you all….
