Quoted from Jason_Jehosaphat:

Digging for fire describes what I do in this hobby at least half the time. I should dig for grubs instead.

As much as I love you; you’ve done your share of digging….

Digging a few things I came across today….definitely not Grubs…

Also met a rising local tourney player, and was destroyed like an old geezer on TWD at Morts…

I was just in Grand Forks a few days ago and was curious about how many pinheads were in that town…

Grand Forks is fairly vibrant but not many locations with pins. I see opportunity to grow the Grand Forks community….

Curious what Parzival or other GF folks take is on the sitch….

Tons of potential but it seems like they really don’t have a ‘homebase’ type of location with multiple pins.

Best spot seems to be Rhombus Guys brewing but at this point they only have a couple stern pro’s out (IM and DP).

I’ve met a couple guys that come down to Fargo when they are looking to play and have mentioned how sparse location pins are in GF

#2861 1 year ago

Picked this ‘61 GTB Showboat up for a buddy…it’s so nice, I’m having some serious finders remorse.
Just absolutely beautiful, original 62 year old game. Original glass is crazy.
Definitely going to a nice home, but my home is nice too. Arghhh

Yeah, Grand Forks definitely doesn't have a great commercial spot. I've kicked around the idea of opening a small arcade bar, but I'm not sure it's feasible with my current schedule. I think it would do well, especially if it was located downtown. If anyone is around Grand Forks, and wants to play, your always welcome at my place. Current lineup is the four CGC LEs, Rick and Morty, JP/Deadpool/Godzilla/Avengers/Foo Fighters LE.

Wish I would have know that when I was stuck up there last week producing UND's commencement. Rhombus Guys got pretty boring after awhile haha

How do the flippers work on that game? I assume each button controls a set and not truly both lefts and both rights?

Popeye is shaping up. LEDs in, now time to get fresh rubbers, but they’re a bitch to get to in this one. Must remove Bluto’s head, and then hit a few screws to get the upper PF off.
Have two of these that I’m combining to get the best…I’ll have a solid example, plus a nice players condition when done….

My Popeye experience begins and ends with a single game played on one at Al's warehouse in Fridley when he was still open.

Wish one would go on route around here.

I’m still kicking myself for his $2,000 Rocky I passed on right before he closed. I thought it was priced a bit high…yeah.

Going much further back he had a TAFG for $4500 I think. First time I had played a gold. One of two golds I’ve ever played.

Yeah, I almost picked that up, but another DE fanatic friend got it instead. Arron said to me, it’s nothing special, but still at 2k it was a great deal. I did grab some cool signs, old playfields, and all the glass I could pack.
I still have tons of that stuff laying around.

Al’s legacy is incredible. I can’t tell you the number of games I’ve come across with his apron cards. I’ve started collecting them

#2888 1 year ago

For the record T2 is just one step up on crappiness to shop, just above trying to LED a Data East…
The trick is to pull that playfield forward and then shimmy it of the playfield hinges so you can slide it forward to get all the crap in the back of the pf….
Hopefully T2 will get finished today…

Kind of funny; sort of looks like Freddy Krueger, lol

Nearly done getting things assembled on T2.
Titans, some new hardware, adding another white logo flipper bat, fresh Star posts, comet LEDs

Spent the morning helping a friend move things around and change things up.

I’ve always been a huge proponent of “Legs Off” shipping.

Notice tweaked legs on this NOB LeBowski, in addition to slight indentations on the rails.
The head is super heavy, and unfortunately 1/2 inch of blanket did not do the job.
The game is so heavy, I suspect the sway tweaked the legs slightly.

Folks, when you are dealing with games that cost this much, do it right. Ship legs on under no circumstances….

Heck, I wrapped his AFM SE right for a haul out of the house and five minute drive to Man Cave HQ…arrived in same condition it left in
That’s the Brobra way….
