Captain fantastic was a bust...it’s the home edition. Perhaps appeals to some. Anyone know the retail value on it? It’s in perfect condition.

Zero dollars. Perfect condition because it probably had zero plays.

Highest bidder gets. It sort of cool. It’s light. 3/4 size, small footprint. Great for someone living out of van. Heck maybe it’s my new road trip pin

Love following this thread, but I didn't quite catch what the adventures are. Is Brobra buying pins from all over, giving them the once over, then reselling? Looks like he's picking up AND delivering on both ends? Love all the pics!

Yes and he’s very talented at doing the “reverse rainbow puke”. I’d make a reference to a dog licking up…never mind.

Yeah, I’ve lost my mind. I buy pins and flip along the route if they are solid. Otherwise they get sold as-is with disclosure, or brought home and shopped. Plus I’ll haul stuff for others along the route, inspect, and pick for my brethren.
Moving games for others helps with expenses and allows me to network and develop good relations with many. Just being creative and busting my ass, but most of all having a blast!

They have tendency to flow towards the Great Lakes region. They’re like Salmon, finding their way home....

....It’s a quintessential Midwestern game and exemplifies what is considered a Great Lakes accent....there’s nothing like playing one in the sweltering heat, and have that fan kick in...

I’m not qualified to answer but I’d guess high 3s to start? What makes it different than the main run? I recall there was some controversy with the likeness on the Backglass.

Cool! Thanks for the background all! Well I’ll be moving to central IL first week of July and will definitely need to find my first pin and some friendly faces. Hopefully we’ll be able to connect Brobra!

No worries. Timing is everything, and it’s ok if it doesn’t work out sometimes. You never know, could be a blessing in disguise.
I was taught that “sometimes, the dragon wins...”, and that’s part of life.

Thank you. 1.5” pink panther 3 sheets @ $17 ea. Two 16’ 1000 Lbs straps @ $4 ea.
About $5 in wrap.
So it costs about $60 to the job, but we’ll worth it.
All can be found at the Home Depot.

Oooh, you’re playin’ my tune! We drop our terminal T’s (boat doesn’t end with a t sound but instead sort of air at the back of our tongue) but we turn mid-word T’s into d’s (wadder, not water), we say “er” in place of or (left er right) we put 2 a’s in the middle of words that should have 1 (can is more like cay-un), we say “tuh” instead of to, we for sure drink “pop,” and we say “Ope!” when we forget something/ drop something/ make a silly mistake.

And this Great Lakes accent is not to be confused with the Minnesota, Chicago, or UP accents!

(I’m an Indy transplant, born and raised in the Mitten State!)

I was working in New Hampshire several years ago and someone local called me on the phone. After about 10 seconds the lady said to me "You are from Detroit aren't you?" I was rather shocked because, I am! I asked how she new and she informs me that she was a linguistics professor at Dartmouth and she could tell because of the way I pronounced my "R's"! I remain in awe to this day! And, yes, when someone asks where I am from, I raise and turn my left hand and point to a spot below my thumb and just above my wrist!

Thought I'd post a picture of my ancient Desoldering Gun, since Brobra appreciates old but useful tools/equipment. At least if his love of that stair-climber of his is any indication.

This is a Denon Instruments Company of Japan (DIC) branded desoldering gun. I can't imagine how old it must be, but the damn thing works like an absolute champ. Just used it today to pull a U25 chip for NVRAM replacement, and it makes the work pretty painless.

This thing must be at least as old as I am. I wonder how it compares to a modern Hakko? Cuz this thing is deceiving great!
