Quoted from daakrolb:

I genuinely have to say- they absolutely DO NOT. On one hand, I get that's the original material... but god almighty they suck.

We can agree to disagree on this one. Although, I’ve only partially LED’d a WD. If I were to led I’d do warm light comets; mainly clear, but maybe frosted in the backbox and feel strategic in the GI so I don’t loose my eyesight.
Then again, you had a nice WD. Post some pics of it with the LEDs. I always reserve the right to change my mind. This could provide for some healthy dialogue

So it’s pretty much SOP to clean motors and get these reels smoking on WD. I’m on expert on that one now.

So the Brobra is open for his next adventure....
Particularly looking for anything this week that routes me towards Madison (Party town USA). I’ll do 750 miles max radius off Madison. This isn’t a go fund me, but rather compel me and provide me lift for my next adventure I pay FMV, I’m polite, Socially distanced and mask respectful, I do exactly what I say I’m going to do, don’t hem and haw, show up on time, act quickly, nimbly, decisively, and happily If only everyone was a easy to deal with as me.

So to give back to the community, I was tasked with finding a good example of Tag Team backglass for a restoration run. The eagle has landed; I hope all the Saturday morning, captain-crunch-eating, wrestling watching, tight-man-pants fans enjoy. It’s weird but I have a buddy or two that has the Luchador fetish. This one’s for you...

In addition to chasing pins, I chase snow storms headed into Utah; the finest powder on the planet. Hands down. Want to go ride in Japan, though....

LED vs incandescent- absolutely- to each his own for sure. And- you definitely have more knowledge when it comes to the brightness and color temp of the LED. Super bright can definitely be the wrong look on some games. I'll get some pics of my Who Dunnit when I can. They're on my phone, and I only post here on my desktop. I just picked up to pins, too, btw.

I am looking for a Super Breakout arcade. Let me know if you pass through SoCal.

Nothing like a nice winter landscape out in Minnesota farm country...there’s something romantic about it.

LED kit on this guy. It looks pretty good and makes this game pop a bit more. These are hardest games to change bulbs on. It turns a 1 hour job, into 3 hours (due to all
The parts that need to be removed to get at the GI lights that are hard soldered under the playfield). Has anyone tried to de-solder those bulbs and remove wiring staples to get to them more quickly?
I always see the breakdown of the plastics and ramps as an opportunity to clean things up on these anyway. This one was routed for sure, but is pretty clean sans the bolt hose on front and flipper protectors.

Thinking about this GT 2005, fairly clean; and this NEO GEO cabaret; has metal slug, but can take 161 games. Wish all the cartridges were there needs a monitor repair, and side decals, but it’s a sweet game for sure. I think this can size and overall footprint.

Working the new egg head.
Removing these awful bumper protectors.
A sprinkle of heat, small blade to get under, and they peel off easily.
Glad it wasn’t some crappy paint job. They painted part of the shooter lane and ball eject metal red (ouch); a little lacquer remover fixed that.

This is the first EM I’ve decided to LED. Warm clear comets apparently emulate incandescent light temp, but at 1.5 brightness. Looking good so far. Some metals went into the tumblr for light polish, hardware took a lacquer thinner bath. Not sure if this is bad or not, but I’ve found Millwaxx cleans em plastics fairly well. Open to other methods. I think the trick is to not get the printing on the back wet. I’ve had disaster results with that in the past.

I like white LEDs, but don't mind incandescents for home use. If I've got a game on route that'll be left on for 12+ hours a day, then LEDs are a must. Less chance of anything getting hot, less chance of anything burning up, and way less GI power draw-so it's easier on the machine.

Quoted from brobra:Zildjian spinners would have been cool.
A video screen to show band footage would be awesome.
Maybe different album artwork.
Some sort of narrative built around the mystique or mythology of Led Zep.
Animatronic characters, band members, iconic song characters and props, etc.

Paiste. Bonham never played Zildjian with Led Zeppelin.

Headed to Wisconsin Madison area Monday. Can bring some games down or back up. Hit me up.

Em day today. The Units Unit was advancing my tens Units on almost all numbers (should only be 9-0). Cleaned all reel mechs while I was there and hit the 9s contact on the Units Unit.

So I’ve been coming across a lot of players that like to restart games (especially on LE and high end games) after they have a first bad ball.

I can tell you my best game ever on lord of the rings started with two bad balls and then I rallied for over an hour and hit 447 million.

When you have a bad ball, play the game through, and try to score well or at least take the time to practice and experiment. Just my two cents.

#485 3 years ago

So have you ever made a deal to buy or sell a game, verbally agree, and then have someone back out on you? Happened to me for The first time; disappointed to say the least. I’ll give the seller one pass, but that’s it. I won’t resort the airing names.

Ya, I won’t restart a game anymore. I never would restart but sometimes would just plunge and let a ball drain/die. Now I play all balls because of just that. He’ll sometimes ball 1 is amazing and the rest suck

Usually if I have a great first ball, the second or 3rd I usually choke. Essentially 3 balls per game is just 3 chances to do something great on any of the 3. So who cares if the first two are bad for that matter. Besides who doesn’t love a comeback on ball 3.

Some of my games I completely turn off EB. I’ve gotten so good at my HSII I have them off.

The IJ I have is generally factory settings and I’m thinking about turning down the EB to 1 per ball in play and I’m not close to mastering that game yet.

Potentially planning something like this Friday/sat. Pm me if you are looking to move anything up or down along this rough path.

It’s an LE. I’m amazed at the roughy 700 trading difference between the afm Le and Mam le.
1) afm le comes with that cool green trim. (That’s 200 min)
Comes stock with a topper (that’s 500 right there.)
3) color chip (400)

Compared to a stock MM LE, the AFM LE is hands down a way better value. I’m open for counter arguments....let the games begin!
