I bought a project Blackout with a stripped playfield and a few missing inserts...played at pretty decent one at Pinball at the 'Zoo yesterday and am REALLy excited about the reference pics I was able to take.
I know the hard top is coming later this year...part of me wants to get started, part of me wants to wait for the hard top.

Will be following with great interest.

Good luck.

Quoted from Steinke:

After reading as much of Vid's Guides as I could, I decided to give it a shot. Shout out to tomass for helping me find this one and fireballak for selling it to me. I have been progressing very slow, but I think its time to start a post to give some momentum to the project. I am starting with the playfield. It has a lot of flaking/planking so I am going to have to clear it before I can do paint touch ups. Here are some before photos to get things kicked off.

How is your project going?
I ordered inserts (jewel) and decided to go with the original starburst because the arrows are that design and they were originally that way, so I need to order some additional inserts and likely another few items before I get started in earnest. My boards will be back in a week or two. Totally rebuilt with NVRAM installed. I have some work to do on wire harnesses--two wires are cut and two pulled out--probably related to GI. I'll need to figure out why they were cut (I assume a short) and fix that...

Well, it turns out that my boards are FUBAR...my board guy needs some more time to determine what the story is...may end up needing to get the Rottendog combo. It also seems like there would be some continuity issues and locked solenoids on the playfield....gonna take me longer than I thought but I'll learn more with this one than my last pin...

I have inserts to do on mine as well.
Some are completely missing.
I have the replacements, I just need to re-absorb the various playfield restoration threads, find my clamps and get on it.
Also playing with the idea of making a rotisserie.

I did some light connector work on my Firepower II.
My board guy did the pins on the boards.
I just bought the bulk pack from Marco or Pinball life.

The power supply is done and I think he said that the sound board didn't have the correct chip and that there was another problem that has been fixed on the sound board.

The longer this takes, the easier it will be to just wait for the hardtop.
