I love video modes, but the fact of the matter is, as the industry sits right now in extreme cost cutting , it takes too much programming resources to develop them, and to make one for a full color LCD would take even more resources.
however,
modern game dev kits make it so easy to program simple games they use them in 8th grader programming classes.
if a pinballOS included modern game dev kit making a good video mode would become a matter of a few hours for a programmer.
its high time pinball caught up and started using modern (and ultra low cost) computing platforms.
