Just recently, upon powering up my Bride of Pinbot, as soon as I flip the switch, the machine makes the loudest, God awful static-like "SSSSHHHHHRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!" at full volume and it scares the living shit out of me each time it happens. It also snaps really loudly when shutting the machine off. Machine plays just fine otherwise. None of my other pins even come close to making a noise like this. Do all BoP's make this noise?

Mine does not. Does your power cord have a ground post still on it?

#3 10 years ago

mine does...not sure why but it always has

#4 10 years ago

Mine does nothing of the sort. Grounding issue with the speakers?

Like any woman, she just doesn't like to be turned off.

I had a problem like that once - there was a cap on the sound board with a broken solder joint.

Check caps on the audio board & PSU.

Video of this??

Here is a video of one of the noises it typically makes.

Certainly not normal. It would be best to find the cause, but a WPC No-Pop kit will definitely eliminate it.

That pop kit didn't kill my Shadows horrible startup screech. I know it's not supposed to either but I still had hopes :\

Any ideas on this Rob? I checked back in rgp archive and others have complained about it but no solution (that I could find)

Thx!
