I've been working my way through this BOP machine and have been able to tackle most of the problems, however, one problem continues to persist. The lower playfield GI lights still do not work. I have worked through the driver board and located a fuse next to connector J115 that was blown. It's a 5A 250V #313. I replaced the fuse with another fuse and momentarily had the GI working, however, once again the fuse burned out and the lower playfield lights went out. This leads me to believe there is a short somewhere but I don't have any idea where to begin looking for it. Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your support!

First check the lower left GI connector on the driver board for being burned. So common on games of all eras from increasing current. If it's burned, you'll have to replace it. If the connector is ok, chase the GI wiring across that whole string of lamps. You could have a lamp socket or it's solder tab touching another metal part like a mech or you can also have shorted lamps or increasing lamp resistance which will increase current on that GI loop. So check for unwanted contact and swap lamps out for new ones (or LEDs - draw less current). I've had all of these things causing GI fuse trouble.

The light socket for the right coin door mech is touching and shorting out against the lockdown bar lever handle. Put some electrical tape or similar around the lockdown handle and replace the fuse.

Thank you for the suggestions @M&M. The connector J115 is not brown and burned so I will check the sockets along that string. schudel5 thank you for the suggestion. I will also check the coin door for shorting. I’ll keep you posted on my progress. Thanks!

@M&M Creations, schudel5 - Once again, thank you for your suggestions! I found that connector J120 was burned up, the GI for the display lighting. New headers and a new connector completed and simply replacing the burnt fuse fixed all the GI lighting problems. I appreciate your direction and suggestions! DanielM
