Recently, the display on my bride of pinbot started fading out during game play.

Almost to the point where you cannot see anything.

As far as I can tell, nothing else in the game is being affected.

This happens every time I play it now. The screen starts off perfect, and slowly fades away.

My buddy says It could be voltages dropping. I’m not sure what voltages I am looking for or where to test.

I bought a new high voltage board from Pinball life for my TZ that was doing the same thing. It was $50. Figured I'd try that before buying a new display.

Did it fix it?

Anyway, here are a few pics. One fully working and a couple about 10 minutes later.

To me that looks like typical ribbon cable issues. Try reversing the ribbon cable to the display and make sure to keep pin 1 marked with red at the end of the cable in the same position. You could also wiggle the ribbon cable(s) when it's happening to see if it clears up.

Ha it's been 61 days since I replied to this thread. whoops. I have played the game (no display), and tried to trouble shoot it.

All voltages are good:

5vdc
88vac

tested the ribbon cable with a multimeter-good.

I reflowed solder to the display and other boards in the back box

I bit the bullet and ordered a new display and ribbon cable for good measure. I will report back.

New pinscore display for the win.

Marco shipping it without mounting hardware and forcing me to mickey mouse it in, for the fail.
