Hello,
I would like to get a dedicated output from the table to output the VO and SFX with the music off. VO especially. I have heard that in BOP there is one resistor that the VO passes through and one that the music passes through to adjust the volumes before they hit the amp. You would think I could stop the music there. If I could stop the music and get the SFX and VO to play, that would work, but figuring out how to get a real output would be better.

Thanks

You could try running the system in PinMame using the manual sound command mode. Or try the m1 emulator running Bridgem1 as the frontend. See if the game appears in the list.

R23 & R24 will disconnect both Y2151/Y3012 sound channels which play the music. J509 carries a line level combination of all 4 channels so you could record it from there too.

Thanks for the replies. Ripping the rom sounds awful. That is why I am looking for another solution. Thanks System, This is looking like a solution. So, if I disconnect R23 and R24 the music stops. Then I clip lead from J509 and record from there and the music won't be there. Correct? Should there be another clip lead from a ground somewhere?

Let me know if I am understanding this correctly.
Thanks again,
norman

Yes basically. pulling those two should stop all synthesised sound. Voices and samples come along different audio paths.

Pin 1 is ground, pin 3 is audio+.

Ripping is more viable than you think. Are you looking to make some voice samples, as in make a collection of the vocals? I can do that easily, and put them in wav/mp3 format if you like.

Thanks System I will try that tonight! Hey Crashdance, If you think you can do that I would be very greatful. All the samples that carry voice are badly distorted. Not just for me but for anyone I have talked to as well. If you have a process of extraction that gets the voice samples without the distortion, a lot of people will be very excited. Please let me know

thanks all,

The distortion is simply due to the limited hardware. I can't do anything about that.

Thanks anyway crash... It is interesting that the sounds, when you play the actual table, are not as distorted as they are when they are extracted. Quite the mystery. I WILL figure it out... When I do I will let you all know.

There should actually be no difference. What do you mean by "when they are extracted?" Have you used an emulator before?
