    Quoted from fosaisu:

Yeah, regardless of the title it's a pretty stellar accomplishment, especially given what an excellent game The Shadow turned out to be. I'm super-excited to see what's next from Eddy, and I hope Stern gives him creative freedom and lets him contribute fully on both the design and coding fronts.

Time will tell, if he can get one unique mech, it could be a game changer.

Brian becomes Gomez and Gomez becomes Gary........

hope stern doesn’t BOM him to death...

Any rumours out there suggesting if his game will be licenced or unlicensed? Either way I’m super excited to see what Brian does, The Shadow is one of my favourite Bally’s along with TAF.

Well we know at this point one designer is working on Godzilla.

Borg is Munster but may already be done and on to his next game.
Beatles is after Munsters but we do not know who's doing it. I would guess Elwin but have no clue.
Ritchie is doing a non licensed 3rd version of high speed or black knight.
Elvira 3 is coming next year but Dennis did the design
    Godzilla is coming from someone
Superman is rumored to be coming from someone

Thanks jgentry I knew Stern snapped up Godzilla from Spooky but I didn’t realise they where actually developing a game using the licence, glad they didn’t buy the licence just to sit on it though.

    High Speed 3..... YES PLEASE!!

All that we know for sure is that stern has the license and Charlie stated on the Spooky podcast that he knows who is working on the game so it sounds like it's definitely happening. I would guess it was already in the works and stern bought the other Godzilla license out from under Spooky to prevent 2 games being made close together.

I think the main question is who is doing the classic Beatles design as it has to be designed at this point.

    I'll take a NIB Quicksilver

We don't know that at all, locking up a license to keep a competitor from getting it but doing nothing with it is far from unheard of.

True that Ritchie is working over a 3rd version of HS or BK?? FirePower would ne a good one.

    #63 5 years ago

I would hope Mr Ritchie is more creative than making a rehash of Firepower/HighSpeed or Black Knight for Sterns first non-licensed pinball in decades.

It must have been done for a while now, so who does that leave as possible designer?

Gomez took over Deadpool from Trudeau so unless he did it before then, one of his The Pin designs maybe?

Borg is up next with Munsters, no way he could have done it he’s done what, 3 designs in last 12-18months.

Going back it was Keith (Maiden), Borg (GOTG), Ritchie (SW), Borg (Aerosmith)

Steve has had the biggest break since SW and maybe George since BM66 till Deadpool is probably the biggest gap between designs for a designer.

Be a shame if Brian was wasted on Beatles if it’s truely a simple EM type design, not that there is anything wrong with EM or single level/no ramp games, I’d just rather see Brian let loose creativity!

I didn't listen to the podcast so it's whisper-down-the-lane at this point, but if Charlie says he knows who at Stern is working on Godzilla, that suggests they've assigned talent and are at least considering doing something with the license. Unless it's all an increasingly elaborate ruse to get under Spooky's collar.

I hope he knocks this one out the park!

He has made it pretty clear he didn’t enjoy designing Star Wars and working with licencors, so if his next is High Speed 3 hopefully it’s his smoothest and fastest game to date but also has abit of a fresh layout from The King of Flow.

Just going by what Charlie said on a podcast, if they lied to him so be it. Seems pretty legit to me though.

    #69 5 years ago
    Quoted from PaulCoff:

I wouldn’t be surprised if Brian helps Gomez out a little on Deadpool. I remember hearing a presentation by Gomez a few years back, where he stated that he helped Brian out on the castle mech design for MM. Those two designers work well together and I’m looking forward to any colaberation in the future.

Actually George Gomez and Brain Eddy worked on the Arctic Thunder Arcade game together

Ah, I wasn't aware Charlie said he knew the designer, in that case I would say that's a legit source and I was mistaken.

Are we sure Borg is up on Munsters or is this just an assumption based on the rotation of designers?

    Quoted from wyopin:

Yes we do know Borg is the designer, Dwight is on code and Franchi did the art.

    yep.

They call it "Catch & Kill" when a tabloid newspaper pays money for an exclusive story, then never actually publishes it.

It's often done to protect politicians from scandals like getting caught with pornstars, playmates, prostitutes, or just simply knocking broads up after unprotected sex.

Scratch the electricity creature (Ghidora? LOL), and add Gamera, and we've got a win.

We all see how creative TNA is; and a single layer game can offer plenty of action. I'm thinking a retro style Beatles game might be a perfect way to tap into Brian's creativity for a game that will appeal to some of the elder statesmen of the pinball hobby.

    #76 5 years ago

I’m definitely a fan of his work. I’ve owned 4 pins that’s he’s been involved with- MM, AFM, Indiana Jones and Shadow. Looking forward to see what new innovative design he can bring after a long absence.

    #77 5 years ago
    Quoted from DCFAN:

I know some are joking but might as well post this:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddy_current
    Origin of term
The term eddy current comes from analogous currents seen in water in fluid dynamics, causing localised areas of turbulence known as eddies giving rise to persistent vortices. Somewhat analogously, eddy currents can take time to build up and can persist for very short times in conductors due to their inductance.
    History
The first person to observe eddy currents was François Arago (1786–1853), the 25th Prime Minister of France, who was also a mathematician, physicist and astronomer. In 1824 he observed what has been called rotatory magnetism, and that most conductive bodies could be magnetized; these discoveries were completed and explained by Michael Faraday (1791–1867).
In 1834, Heinrich Lenz stated Lenz's law, which says that the direction of induced current flow in an object will be such that its magnetic field will oppose the change of magnetic flux that caused the current flow. Eddy currents produce a secondary field that cancels a part of the external field and causes some of the external flux to avoid the conductor.
French physicist Léon Foucault (1819–1868) is credited with having discovered eddy currents. In September, 1855, he discovered that the force required for the rotation of a copper disc becomes greater when it is made to rotate with its rim between the poles of a magnet, the disc at the same time becoming heated by the eddy current induced in the metal. The first use of eddy current for non-destructive testing occurred in 1879 when David E. Hughes used the principles to conduct metallurgical sorting tests.

Too bad he has nothing to do with it.

Beatles will be a Ka-Pow Game, this means Kaminkow with (much needed, or you get Games like BTTF or TMNT) help.
Beatles was hinted for January. Gomez hints to a Design "heavily influenced" by him early next year.
Count 1 and 1 together and Beatles will be a Gomez Game with Kaminkows Name on it, like BM66.

    YESSSSSSS

Lloyd don’t tease things like this if there is no truth in it that would be cruel, so I have one question for you am I gonna need a bigger boat/gamesroom?

Just like you if this is true I'm gonna SMILE, YOU SON OF A BITCH!

    Quoted from Shapeshifter:

    Certainly a possibility!

I hope Jaws is more than a possibility.

    Quoted from underlord:

But who’s working on the Jaws pin?

According to LTG's hint it's Eddy. If not Eddy....so long as this gets produced.

If Brian Eddy did not already have something predesigned before getting hired in March 2018, I think it will still will be around July/August before we see his first Stern pin.

Is the next pinball in line going to be Brian's?

    #87 4 years ago

    Jurassic World

    #88 4 years ago

Looking forward to Brian’s game as all his games are good.

I’m wondering if we’ll see him return with a game firmly in his comfort zone, like SR with T3 (t2) and nordman with potc (dr dude); we often see returning veterans come back with a very familiar layout.

    #89 4 years ago

I still hope for Bill & Ted, while Godzilla would also be great.

Not a fan of Sharks or Dinosaurs but that just personal preference.

So there's zero chance his next pin would be Jaws?

    Watching with intent,

    I can't wait.

I would be shocked if Jaws or JP

Brian is in the top 3 designer troop always.

So, in the next 8 months we should have 2 more Stern releases, 1 CGC, and maybe another JJP?
