yes this could be your problem.but quick question..is the game plugged in an outlet by itself or with other things?does your power in the room flicker on and off for a split second or so?Power off the game and reseat all connectors and look for any signs of battery corrosion.Also,check for burnt/brownish colored connectors,they do burn up and go bad and will give continuty problems

other problem would be the BR's the heatsink is getting way too hot.

try the connectors first and see and like mentioned above look for cold solder joints on the header pins that attach to the connectors and if the connectors are in good shape

that needs to be fixed regardless they are supposed to be soldered on not glue.It would be a good idea to do all the work all at once to save headaches down the road.
