Thanks for the reply! Will let you low how it works out.
I joined one club today, why not another? Especially one that likes a game i find to be a blast.
Has anyone experienced the ball slamming into the glass in the upper right drop target area?
Mine did it when all three targets are resetting. Scared the crap out of me every time. I had put individual PETG plastic protectors on all the plastics- but modified this area to encompass all three plastics. It seemed to solve my issue.
I was able to fix up the legs that hold up the play field, not to tackle the 5 switches that are not working! Odd thing is the column is mostly out, but has two working switches right in the middle. Posting more in the tech forum.

Not sure how I missed this club, but have had mine for a while now. Love the simplicity of the machine. Funny thing is when non pinball people come over, they often think it is the oldest machine I have.

I was going over my Breakshot I recently picked up and fixing issues. I notice one flipper EOS is "dead" in diagnostics. How is EOS used in this game? It flips fine, just wondering if it is constantly providing high power to the coil while flipper is held up and if this will damage the coil/transistor, or if there's still computer control to prevent this?
The switch is there and appears to look and mechanically work fine. I haven't debugged the issue yet, might just be continuity, just wondering if it's risky to play with it registered as "dead".
I picked up my Breakshot a few weeks ago and I've discovered that upper right flipper doesn't always actuate on the first flipper button press (lower right flipper does however as it should), but all subsequent near term activations occur as planned. However, after a short delay in right flipper activations the upper flipper one time delay occurs again. Has anyone experienced this issue as well?
Did you verify the cabinet switches are clean and adjusted?
The right cabinet flipper switch should be two switches stacked. The second switch closes slightly later so you can flip the upper flipper independently of the lower flipper.

Stay tuned!

Mods for Breakshot? Surely not?
Mine should finally be built up later this summer, after restoration.

Not a mod for the game........something to compliment it.

And, it has arrived! Pencil sketch from Stan Fukuoka. Love it! Now to get a frame!
Hey guys, about to join the group.. I'll toss up some pics in a week or so when it arrives. Super excited. Any of you install NVram? got pics or suggestions?

I'll have to check again, but all my Capcom games, I thnk, already have it from the factory. I don't recall seeing any AA batteries on my Cpacom machines. Now I need to go back and check.
Chris
Just checked an none of my Capcom machines have any batteries. I am guessing the setting are store in NVRAM that is integrted into the board?
Chris
They use a "zeropower" RAM chip.

Hey Breakshot Club! I recently got a Breakshot and noticed that during 9 ball the targets on the playfield that correspond to the ball you are shooting for are not lit. I watched a few videos and am wondering if this is normal. They seem to light during other game modes. Loving the game so far! Gotta go play some more.
Hey guys so the new toy came in! I got it for a great price however it did come with reset issues that I was aware of. Just working through troubleshoot now . It plays bloody amazing though!
My board doesn't have a c97 capacitor. Does yours?
My Breakshot doesn't have one. When you find out what the problem is would you let me know. My machine does the reset thing on the first or second game and then straightens out. As long as I keep the game on it plays great. If I turn the game off and back on it does the same thing.

Will do, maybe it's that cap? Haha half kidding.

Anybody have any input about the targets on the playfield not being lit during 9 ball?
Hey group, still battling my board issues but hopefully will have resolved with some new parts coming in.
I emailed Cliffy about protectors for the machine and he said its on his list and to keep checking in. Just wanted to gauge interest on any potential buyers, if we can get 5 or so people signed up to get some, it may speed up the process on getting them.
Comment if you're interested in some cliffies!
Awesome, that's 4 so far. It wouldn't hurt to bug him =] . To be clear, this isn't really a group buy, it's more of a petition to get cliffy to make the protectors and sell us a few . Once we get 5 people I'll email him and let him and let him know we have about 90% of the breakshot owners on pinside lol
Quoted from Boat:HeyCrew - Cliff got back to me and he’s working through making the protectors. Here is a teaser . Forgot to take a good before pic.
Keep you posted .
Did you get your reboot problems resolved? What did it take?
Quoted from IN_Pins:Did you get your reboot problems resolved? What did it take?
No actually - ran into a couple of snags on my own machine. Tried to replace the 5v regulator with the more efficient one and just ended up causing more problems.
I just ordered switching power supply that I am going to install to see if I can get some consistent 5v.
I did notice that the C96 470uf capacitor was way out of spec. Check that with an ESR or straight up replace it. The manual shows a 10v 470uf while I believe there was a 16 installed on my board. If you do replace it, I would stay with the 16 for a little headroom. The c96 capacitor was reading around 360uf so that could have been the root cause.
Got my pf back from restoration a little while ago, and it's now being built up again.
Which areas do people recommend mylar? Slings, and ..... ? Was there factory mylar?
Quoted from QuietEarp:Anybody have any input about the targets on the playfield not being lit during 9 ball?
Take a look at the rules in the manual on ipdb.org. During 9-ball you are shooting specific shots, not particular balls, thus they won't be lit.
Still looking for a Lockdown bar for a Breakshot. Seems as if they are almost impossible to find. Does anybody know where to find one?

Thanks! I finally figured that out. Kind of weird that the actual targets for the balls don't factor in the 9 ball game. I guess they needed to mix it up from rotation and cut throat countdown. Still though, that bothered me until I figured it out.

I used a sterns lockdown.
So I'm shopping a breakshot and getting to the stuff at the back of the playfield is a pain. I can take the plastics off with the PF upright but at the risk of the washers and plastic spacers falling into the cabinet. What am I missing? Is there an easier way to do this?
Quoted from Boat:I’m doing the same thing right now. No, I don’t believe there is. Get a magnetic toolset maybe. In all honestly it’s not bad compared to games with ramps, those are a nightmare!
Actually I figured it out. You have to pull the playfield forward on the arm. You can then park the wheels under the head. It's like having it on a rotisserie.
