So this is a dome light cover that is supposed to look like lightning. This is the prototype it should fit fine this is the second test I designed so it can sit flush against the plastics.

I don't know if this will look good on every game with dome lights, but would most likely be appropriate for Munsters, Guardians of the Galaxy, Medieval Madness and more.

These are just prototypes and there is no markup right now, I make zero on this.

There are 4 options for now I just need to see if someone wants to try one on their machine.

White versatile plastic is just white abs 3d printed. You can leave it white or primer it and make it any color you want.

The Black Versatile plastic will come off as matte black.

The fine detail plastic is printed in clear resin, the super fine detail one is fairly clear.

I suggest painting the clear ones with tamiya clear, you can get red purple or blue or any Tamiya clear at your local hobby store.

This is designed to have 2 recessed areas to avoid the mounting screws.

Once again this is a temporary price. I need some pictures of these on machines. I did mean for the top to have more clearance, if anyone wants one that fits more snug I will quickly make that option.

If you want to know if this is more durable than most 3d printed mods it's just as. Most of the time you shouldn't have airballs that hit the dome lights but this is just a vulnerable to getting cracked as any other plastic.

Click on the 3d at the top right and you can click and drag to see the detail.

UPDATE!: 3/14/2019

This officially fits! Order AWAY!

The Fine Detail Plastic is the one that is clear. You can order this in all colors. THERE IS NO MARKUP YET! You are getting these at cost right now so people can take some photos for me. I will have the snug clearance version up soon.

Quoted from swinks:

make sure to tag it with "pinball" so when people search pinball at Shapeways it comes up.
https://www.shapeways.com/marketplace?q=pinball&sort=newest
Also my advice is you should print and test yourself and not ask the public to proof test it at their cost, if it doesn't fit then it is a waste for them and you will lose credibility. At the moment people are buying it at cost without the markup so in buying they are not getting any benefit even after giving you a photo at all apart from a product at cost, unless I am missing something.
As for strength the regular plastic is durable nylon and better than home printed items as is solid filled and will take impacts. I have a set of custom flipper bats in the nylon and being using for about 18 months. The resin is not so strong if hit directly but that being said I doubt the domes would be hit and if they were would be extremely rare. That said I have resin parts in my snackbar neon and sign and there is a risk but I design some flex into the design. Lastly I noticed that Shapeways parts will vary 0.2mm on average smaller or bigger on parts from that of the cad design so pretty dam close.
hope that helps

I knew it was a longshot. I would feel so terrible if someone wasted money. I don't mind waiting to try it on mine I'm not upset if no one bites until then.

Quoted from EalaDubhSidhe:

So it just slips on over the dome, right?
This is quite a nifty idea, actually. There's a lot of potential to create different effects from styles and patterns that suit various theme genres; magic, science, space and suchlike, even music if it suited the band image. I can imagine a game specifically designed with this kind of 'stencil' idea in mind for flashers and used for its entire production run.

If this works out I'd like to try a few things like slime for Ghostbusters, which I suppose once painted blue could be used for whitewater. What are some other ones you can think of.

Do NOT order this one yet, just look at it. So I wanted to see if I could make a crack at this quickly.

This would be for Blood, Slime, Water, or anything you could think it would look good on. There is more material than the lightning so it will be slightly more expensive.

What do you guys think?

DO NOT ORDER THIS YET. Just click on the link to see the options, and click on the 3d option to do a turnaround.

Quoted from EalaDubhSidhe:

Looks good. You might want to try and experiment with making a 'negative' version where the lightning or the slime drips are cut out of the shape, rather than being the actual print. People playing in a dark room, as many prefer, would see this as the effect far better if the light shining through the dome made the lightning or slime shape and not the other way round.

That will take some time, these are sculpted from scratch. To be honest yeah, if you get solid color it may deaden the light. But if you get the clear version it should still show through. The clear is more expensive than the solid colors, but will look WAAAAY better.

Ok folks. The prototype fit perfectly. Order away. I am going to set up the version that is Snug for GOTG, I don't know if it will work on all machines like that. That is why I designed a generic clearance.

Once again fits perfect.

These prices are bone cost for now because I want people to post some pictures for me. The Slime/Goo one will be in next week and I'll post that one up. I have 2 more coming up.

I didn't think to suggest these for ACDC.

Hey folks. Some people said my liquid design looked too much like cake. So I redesigned it to look more like dripping goo, blood, what have you. I just ordered one to make sure it fits like the others.

Anyway what do you guys think? Once again these can be used for blood, slime, or anything you could want.

I adjusted the flasher cover to be tapered just like the dome. I'll have the prototypes Saturday and I'll post the link soon.

I've had people complain about the projected price of $15-$20 but other companies that print theirs in cheap pla charge $40. $15-$20 for resin printed that is more solid is a deal imo.

I didn't put a markup on these so you're just getting it at the cost to print. What's to complain about.

These are the non tapered design. The others will be here this weekend.

These standard ones are too tall for the trap box, so I just have to make it shorter for that particular one.
